I have growths throughout my thyroid and have had biopsies to make sure that they are not cancerous as it has gone up and down in size over the years and have been on thyroid meds off an on for 30 years. Due to my cervical fusion and thus the inability to tip my head back, they (Oregon Health Sciences University) have said that if anything were ever to go bad, that they would only use medications to kill off the thyroid if needed. Thankfully all has been stable since the biopsies. I will be very prayerful for you and your medical doctors and staff. Hugs and more prayers, Pam

Hi Deb, I feel your apprehension..I had mine removed 10 ears ago but it was not cancerous ig is amazing how quickly i recovered a little sore and very bruised what hospital are you having the surgery ? sending you love and healing...soozie

I had this surgery in 1988..now all I have for memory is a small faded scar on my neck, and not thyroid hormone replacement until just this last year. If you must have cancer, my doctor told me this is the best kind to have. Will be wishing you a speedy recovery!

It's about time to head out for the hospital. I've been up since 3 nothing to eat nor drink since midnight - I sure wish someone had invented coffee tasting toothpaste since I was allowed to brush my teeth ;-)
