Hello Cuties,

I am trying to recover from death, sickness and care giving, and get back to my 'old, happy self' but its not easy, when you hear of all the death and destruction evil people seem set on. My heart aches for the innocent victims in Paris. I am so sorry...
gerryvb's poem this morning is true, we have our memories of Cody for comfort. His mom needs prayer, she is having a very hard time....
My back is better. I am still trying to get the neck/arm better, but some days are better than others. Now I have another machine, I sew as I can on good days.
I am still having pc or internet trouble, I don't know which, so I miss a lot here on Cute.
My daughter and SIL took a trip to Nashville, Tenn last week. They left Friday morning and came back Monday night. I know I am glad they got a break, but its getting harder on me, with the kids. Ashley's group play once a year at the Earnest Tubb Theater.
Nick, Mason and Avery's dad, helped with Mason and Avery, even tho it wasn't his weekend. My SIL's parents took them to meet Nick Friday, after school for me, and we picked them up Sunday about 5pm. That really helped me, as its a two hour roundtrip to meet Nick. SIL's parents are good to help, even though these 2 are not their 'real' g-kids. I kept Nora the whole time though. She isn't bad but we sure ran a lot to the potty!-lol-she has done really well. Refused, at first, but we have learned when she decides something, she does it.She made up her mind to potty and now she does.No 'accidents' even at night. She is very opinionated for a two year old!
I had to keep Avery home Monday, and by Monday night dealing with her, I thought my back was going to put me down again. When they came in Monday night, to pick up the children, they brought gifts in for everybody. When it came to mine, I told them the best gift they gave, was coming back a day earlier-lol-(my real gift was an ornament of Graceland at Memphis,Tenn and Avery's was a long scarf with Elvis' signature embroidered on. Avery loves his music and they went to Memphis too)
I know they appreciate the break, I really know they need one and really I am glad they get one. Ashley tried to help, by sending the 2 to their dads. It will be another child next year, I do think they may just have to plan ahead, for the older two to miss school and bring all four with them.
I was planning on taking a 'me' day today, by going to a movie (don't know if anything's worth seeing, I saw War Room, highly recommend it) or going Christmas shopping (but don't know what to get but 2, of my 18 kids/grands) so.......I'm just sitting here. Too tired or too lazy to make an effort.
Sounds like I need a girls day out, to pick me up.....anyone interested?-lol
Well, that's what has been happening here. Hope things are going well for all you Cuties and I promise to try to get back to the old happy "Toogie". (I don't like this one-lol)
I am looking forward to the ' upcoming new year' and wishing peace and goodwill to ALL men/women everywhere. Love-Toogie

Toogie, sometimes, just taking a day lazing around, reading a good book, eating out, a bubble bath soak can do wonders for a person. So just take a Toogie day doing what you want to do. Others can look out for themselves for one day.

I wish you could come for a mini vacation and we could stitch and talk and just be. But you needed the day to rest so I'm glad you rested You have had a tough year with several of your own health issues and you spend a lot of time helping out with your beloved grandkids in so many ways. And you are still grieving. Don't be too hard on yourself. You will heal and I can see you are working hard to get back to the fun loving Toogie. Pm any time you need to if you want to vent.

Toogie, sitting here reading your post, I think we have to be "twins" by different mothers!! LOL All the emotions rolled into one we feel from terrorists madness, the state of our world, caretaking of others and family needs makes us want to run away to regroup and regain our vigor! We, mothers, keep going, going, and going like the "Energizer bunny", so it is most important to work in that "ME" time!! I get so tired of being tired, and want normalcy (somewhat, at least) to my days that bring on more pleasures, and not the worries and exhaustion! Slow down and pamper yourself a bit! One can only run on adrenaline so long, before your health will suffer; then you will have to retire your cape as "Superwoman"!! Wish I was nearby, we would go laugh, play, and have a fun day goofing off together!! I want a happy Toogie, too!!
You have to prioritize, and right now it's YOU!!
Hugs, Angel

Toogie, bless you - you do need and deserve a "Me" day - just to relax and unwind. You do so much for your family!! I had to put the news on mute for a while as all that has happened to innocent people in Paris to be too overwhelming. The pictures of people trying to save themselves just beak my heart. Please don't sit and watch tv right now - go for a walk, take a nap and then a bubble bath!! Loads of hugs to you! Laura

I wish I could wave a magic wand and make it all better! My mother would say that and just knowing that she cared so much helped with troubles. I would like to make things all new and fresh for you. "Calgon, take Toogie away!" :) Prayers for great rest and renewal....love to you, Joan

Toogie I would love to join you for a girls day out. I feel I need one as well. I also have been having back troubles. Been having Physio as well as medication. Don't know if either is helping. Hubby has problems as well. Hope his is sorted out soon. Hopefully before Christmas. At the moment we cannot plan anything. My machine is in at the shop at the moment and I am hoping it will be fixed correctly this time. Well I guess we just have to get on with life. Hugs Shirley

Oh Toogie I know how it is and I can certainly empathize with you. There is never a day for just me anymore and hasn't been now for several yrs. I am a lot older than you and use to it now, but I know what it is like when you are young and yes to me you are young. Wish I could do or say something to lift you up. I just thank God for each day I have and for keeping me where I can look after Ron. . I'm lifting you up to the Lord to lift your spirits . Life can be very hard at times but He will bring us through it. Know you are loved by more than just your family for the loving caring person your are. Here's a hug from me and wish we could just sit back, have a cup of tea and chat to our hearts content with no interruptions. Much love Lillian

So glad I was able to stop here for a brief moment and read your story. Grief is a hard thing to overcome as are all our daily aches and pains---it seems hard to think we can overcome but we do. We are strong, we are women and in Christ we can do all things. Life is a complicated story. A lot of us can sympathize with you because we may have dealt with some of the same things. Not to diminish yours. Reading all the love from all the Cuties was so uplifting to me. We all care for each other in a way others can't understand. We commune together on this site as sisters maybe even a brother or two?? Hobbies bring people together. My little great -granddaughter, my granddaughter, her husband and my grandson just left to go home. Boy, was I relieved. I thought if I had to bend over and pick the little fatty 1 1/2 y/o up again or follow her up the stairs to play with the dolls I was going to kill over. Just can't do that anymore. My back. legs, arms is killing me. I am so thankful to have all of them in my life but when my husband and I are mostly alone, company wears us out. Still I love them and life goes on. Prayers for all your needs. Hugs

God be with you Toogie for healing from pain and hope you find peace and calm. Some days are always better than others. That is why we appreciate the good ones. Holidays are upon us and if seems like I never get done. So much to do and just feel blah. Trying to put best foot forward for family. We always seem to make it. Dinner fixed and everyone is stuffed. Gifts made and wrapped. God provides us with so much.I am thankful.

Toogie, You are always trying to do your best to care for all around you, at home and in our Cyber embroidery world. With all the things you have been going through, it is natural that you are hitting a wall, so to speak. Take charge of what you allow to enter your life. Hearing basic details about, the events in Paris are sad and horrific enough without watching the news feeds of the events as they unfolded and are being replayed over and over. You can still choose to pray and support the various charities that are giving those needing help, the needed support from around the world, without subjecting your spirit to seeing videos that you know will almost break your heart with grief. If you find watching the news a habit you can not break then at least do yourself a favor and limit the viewing to once a day or skip the segments that are basically repeats. Try to make each thing you must do in your everyday life as rewarding as you can. Play music that uplifts your spirit. Be sure you have favorite pictures and scriptures in each area you tend to spend your time in. Even something as wearing your favorite color when your spirit is struggling can help. All the little things can help to refill your inner bucket. You so often give to others you must take time to refill your own inner bucket. Recent events will diminish your bucket rapidly, so do all you can and also allow others to help when they offer and you may also need to call or PM those who you are close to, that are people who have been able to lift your spirits in the past. I also find a gratitude journal that I only write the things I am thankful for and try hard to find something positive about even the most heart wrenching events. For the events in Paris I am grateful that there were so many that survived. I am grateful that when people were stranded, that total strangers opened their homes to people needing a helping hand. I am grateful that people do not understand such wickedness. I am grateful that Heavenly Father is a loving just God and that He knows the full situation and He can and will judge those events far better than I ever could. I hope you will go stitch yourself or maybe even stitch up some angels for those in Paris. Often if I try to focus on doing something for someone else I find that it helps to lift my spirit. The terrorists can not stop the outpouring of love from around the world. Hopefully you can lift someones spirits without doing any more physical lifting yourself at least for a while, so your back, arms and shoulders can recoup. You may want to also stitch yourself some rice or wheat bags to zap in the microwave or freeze in the freezer for your achy muscles. I do hope you feel the love and support from your Cute family and hope that these ideas or some, from others may help you, as you continue to try to lift your spirits. ((Hugs)) Pam
