Just curious about the 2 Christmas bag designs that are up in Designs. It states Bags but I can't see how they would be bags. I am thinking more applique?

Am I confused or what?

it looks like they have pockets to put a treat or a small gift in to me, has anyone tried one yet

When you look at the sew out in Embird the pocket is sewn down flat. Pity there are no directions.

I've made it and it is an Applique, I've been doing them for years so I know the steps.

I'll put up a picture of the Reindeer. Love Chris

P.S. Babash is right, the pocket is sewn down so you can't put anything in it.

I am afraid the name of the design is misleading as it is a double appliqué. And as Chris shows a very pretty one. It would have been nice if the pocket could have been a real pocket but it is not designed that way.
As for instructions: appliqués are always done in three steps - 1. a die line/placement line, 2. the narrow zigzag to attach the fabric and 3. the satin stitch.

Thanks Mops for the applique instructions. I have only just started after a number of years to try applique.
