Hi Cuties, I felt like making something over the weekend and came up with these two Christmas placemats. I'm going to give them to a friend. I cut out 3 inch strips and sewed them directly onto the wool batting and then stitched in the ditch. I just rounded the corners slightly and I then put on a dark green bias binding and sewed it by machine on the top and hand-stitched the back. I think they've turned out so striking! What do you guys think? Love Chris

They are lovely Chris ....beautiful fabrics too :)
You have done a great job on the binding specially the rounded corners!
My dear you should be relaxing and taking some well needed rest....you have quite a bit already in your to do list :)
Hope you are feeling better!

Thanks Fatima - yes, I know, but you can't keep a good woman down! Well that's what I've heard. I'm standing up to type because I can't sit for long as the pressure is too painful. I've been given some Valium (Diazepam) to take tonight to ease the spasms. Love Chris

Hi Marian, thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm no better and have been taking Tramadol every 4 hours. I got the script filled for Valium to take this evening before bed as my right buttock muscles are going into spasm. Not very comfortable! Still standing to type replies!!!! Love Chris

Chris they are stunning, i would like to put in an order as well. However, you should be resting. I read below that you have medication to help you through the night, i do hope it works. You won't be able to have your ladies luncheon next week if you do not REST. I know we all carry on regardless sometimes, but this needs time to mend. Thinking of you, hope you feel a little better in the morning. Sandra.

Thank you so much Sandra. Yes, it's about 10.30 here and I'm going to take a Valium and hope I get some relief. I hope I'll feel better tomorrow too. Love Chris

They are lovely! And I am amazed you have the energy with all the pain you are in, to do this. Take your meds and rest. I hope those spasms stop.

Thanks Pam for the nice comments and yes I was sleeping when you put this reply up, had to get up at 3.00 to take another Tramadol, which got me back to sleep till 6.00 when I heard Trevor having a shower. Got up at 6.30 and took another tablet at 7.30. I'm taking them 4 hourly which alleviates the pain and by then it is wearing off. I took a Valium and by 9.00 the muscle spasms had diminished. I'm doing some preparation for my Christmas cake as Amy will be here soon to help me. Love Chris

Thanks Jerrilyn, I'm counting on you and a few others to get me through the next couple of days. I can't wait for the MRI to find out what to do for the next stage. Love Chris

Yes, me too Kim. They are so easy just to attach. This is how I did those bags for the ladies but the fabric in that case was on the Bosal and I could iron them straight onto it and get no separation from the fabrics. Love Chris

Thanks Laura, getting there slowly. Can't wait for Friday and get the results of the MRI. If it's just muscular then I'll be able to do something about it, once the pain settles down. Love Chris

Thanks Pauline, yes, I love the quilt as you go. I wish I'd found this out years ago. How is your daughter? I'm slowly getting there, still in a lot of pain, but living on drugs is making it bearable. Amy will be here soon to help me with the Christmas cake and getting things out of the back cupboards and taking them to the Op Shop. I'm not allowed to lift anything yet. Don't forget we still have to catch up and I want to come down to look at some of those fabric places you took me to last time. Love Chris

I'm so glad I've inspired you Smokey - anything can be made this way of course. I'd love those little bags/purses that Sue has done. The things you can do with scraps of material is endless! Love Chris

Thanks Leah, I appreciate the prayers. Depending on where you live if you think of me around 10.00pm tomorrow night (Thursday) it will be 3.00pm Friday here in Australia. I'll be in the machine for half an hour I've been told! We are about 17 hours in front of the USA, but I'm not sure of your time zones. Love Chris
