I have a life membership with Designs by Sick bought it a long time ago when I was new to embroidery. I noticed the notation on the Quilt in a set by Heidi there are 3 sets up now. I have never seen it before on any of their other sets. Maybe this digitizer doesn't bother to test.

That would make me very uncomfortable. I know very, very, very expert digitizers who even after decades would never send out something that had not been tested.

I did not notice that yesterday when I downloaded these sets. I haven't seen this on any other sets.

It appears they are auditioning and accepting new digitizes from a notice I received. Do you suppose this is how they are going to get new designs?

They audition new sets, most votes wins and then the winning set is test stitches and put up for sale. That should divide the chaf from the corn but that obviously was not the case for your so-called redwork set! You can find their new policy in the new digitisers bit - see link

my goodness, why do people have to be so nasty, is that the word? Something going on here that is not right. The designs being commented on have been fixed and those who purchased these designs have been advised of this. The designs were marked UNTESTED. before anyone starts in on my comment, I am a member of Designs by SiCK, I do moderate on the Forum. I have sat back and read the posts made by certain people, The so called jump stitches in one lot designs were part of the digitising programme and these had not been removed. if people wish to be critical, why not become a tester and then you can make constructive comments?

Just felt I had to respond to phillipa's comment about people being nasty. I don't think we have been nasty just telling it as it is. A lot of us on limited income and when we buy designs we expect them to be correct and usable. This is our way of telling our friends of good or bad service from different sites. As to the problem with the designs not being tested I contacted the site about a month ago and never got a reply. I notice this is your first post here. Stick around and you will see we are a nice bunch of people just trying to help each other out.

I have to make another comment. If this was about Cute embroidery or any of the sister sites, it would be removed. So, why do the moderators on here tolerate this kind of stuff being said about other sites. If you search Designs by Sick forum, you will not find a bad word about Designs by Sick.

Have not had any of Sicks designs in several years but the few I had back then were okay

I am also very unhappy about this and sent them an email - I did not receive an answer yet. I don't think I will renew my membership with them, and will now test anything I bought from them very carefully before stitching it on the final product.

And a lot of their designs looked so pretty!

Thank you Cuties, for bringing the problem with the lots of jumps to my attention. It was after that that I saw some sets were marked "Not Tested".

All the untested sets that I saw were by the same person. I rarely buy from there anymore as I find very few designs that appeal to me. I agree that something has changed in what they have to offer.

I also bought a lifetime membership some time ago, as I liked some of their old designs but not long after that, I also have been disappointed that, in my opinion, the quality and style of their designs seemed to "go downhill" - rather a sad situation as their forums have often been educational and the lifetime subscription seemed like good value- however a bargain is only a real bargain if the quality and usefulness of what you are buying is good. Hopefully, the persons responsible will take a closer look at comparing the quality & style of their older designs with that of the new ones are now on offer and, rather than get indignant about any criticism, try to learn from honest remarks and work on improving their standards to the level they used to be - I sincerely wish them good luck with doing that.
