I have this coat that is plain black & boring so I decided to dress it up with this Sketched Snowman, seemed the right sort of design to stitch on this weather proof jacket. What do you think? would a filled stitch design be better? I am thinking about adding something to the backside too

A filled stitch might be too dense and make it pucker so I think that this is the perfect choice.

I am not a fan of sketched designs but this one looks perfect for what you want to use it on.
I would go ahead and do it.

I like it just the way it is, if your next design is too dense your jacket may not be weatherproof if it rains heavy, You may end up with a wet back.

Your super design looks great. How difficult was it to machine onto your jacket?

Caroline I often will add a placement stitch when I am not able to hoop the material in order to stitch on to it & I did that in this case as well. The new machine has a very wide bed to the right but I did slow my machine down & hold the weight of the jacket on the right side. It went very well. Thank you very much ~hugs~

I think this is just perfect for this jacket. I don't think a filled design would be any better. This reflects the lightness of snow and has interesting design elements.

I love this. I like the lighter, airer designs more and more and they stitch out a lot quicker. You picked a perfect design for your coat/Lillian
