Wow, I can't believe another year is almost over. For me it has been very challenging. Most of this year has been spent trying to find out what is medically wrong with m hubby. In Feb. we thought he had a stroke because he just was not functioning right. Unfortunately the preliminary diagnosis is worse. The dr's are saying he has Frontaltemporal Dementia. This is rare and hits people at a younger age than alzheimers. he has lost some of his cognitive processing skills and reaction times. There is no cure, or treatment that can reverse any issues. He will get progressively worse and need 24 7 care eventually. We are heading to Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN. right after Christmas for further testing and confirmation. I am fortunate that our three children live within 15 min of us and are a tremendous support wanting to spend as much time as they can wih their dad. Our grandsons are 5 and 6 and our granddaughter is 11/2. They are such a delight. I pray that this Christmas will bring peace and joy to you and your families. Please keep my family in your prayers as we face this challenging illness. I thank God my 2 best friends are keeping me sane and helping me walk this journey.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love Cindy B

Thank you, but thinking of others is so imporant in life. We never know what someone else is going through! There are days of anger and tears, but I need to live in the moment and enjoy the time we have together while George can still remember who we are.

Suzanna, are you familiar about this disease? Did you have a family member who had this disease? It has really caught me off guard and I am trying to get all my paper work in order. along with taking full responsibility for all bills, finances, medications.

Yes my first husband( unusual but we are friends) has this disease. You are doing the right thing by getting things in order and going to the mayo clinic. My heart goes out to you, your husband, and your family. Suzanna

Cindy, I really think you are smart to do all the investigating you can. I went to the Mayo Clinic before and they really do their testing. They have knowledgeable specialist, from all over the world.
It sounds like you are ready to face this challenge head-on and I pray for strength for the long run, peace for God's will and joy for the moments he still knows and enjoys life.
Your family sounds loving and your friends supportive.
May God bless you all this holiday, when we celebrate Christ's birth. Toogie

Thank you Toogie for your prayers. I am not sure about how strong I am all I have been able to do is take it one day at a time and some days I can barely do one minute at a time. But with God and my family and friends I keep plugging away.

Thank you Lillian! We have been doing activites with the kids that my husband loves to do every Sunday. Bowling, decorating the tree, the boys helped buikd a new shed in our backyard, and playing cards and other board games. We are trying to live in the moment and make good memories.
