Ah, the wonders of technology. By mistake I picked up and dragged off a directory the other day, and now I know which one - Sonia's Winter Pines alpha. Boo hoo. But, all is not lost. I went to my "Search the web and Windows" window and typed in "Winter Pines" and up it popped in a subdirectory I would never have rediscovered. Did a quick cut and paste and all is well again in my organized little embroidery world. Do you ever do dumb things on your computer unintentionally?

Yes, our machines are computers. They other day I finished stitching a design and I always save the finished one to a USB stick. Then I go back and delete the design on the machine. The afternoon sun was shinning on the embroidery machine screen and I touched delete "all" instead of delete this design. It was a " I don't believe I did this moment". The built in designs are still there , but all others going back 6 or more years are gone. Kay

Oh how frustrating that must have been.
I back those up to the USB and then back to my computer since I did the same thing. Fortunately I had only 2 designs saved at that time.

Nope, all of the dumb things I do are intentional......I THINK I know what I'm doing. Turns out, I don't.

I think I can do stupid things daily on the computer alone. Thank goodness I have a hubby that usually fixes things for me fairly quickly. Awful though when it means you lose designs. But then that is why I have 2 back ups,one of them we pay for.

Oh yes, all the time. Not as lucky or as smart as you though. Some things I seem to lose forever/Lillian

Oh my! I'm so glad that you knew to do that.
I love having the cloud just because I make many, many mistakes.

My granddaughter when playing her games will occasionally swipe the desktop mistakenly and a shortcut icon will disappear. Took a while to catch on, but the "Search Programs and Files" has located these lost files. I will occasionally get full of static electricity and my hair is clingy, etc, and things just seam to jump around and off the screen. Nice to know how to retrieve those things.
