Something in between. I like the starched look,

I have only done a couple of little ones and to me,personal preference is the way you should go. One of My Grandmothers made many, many by hand and she always starched them up crisp, the other liked them nice an soft.

I have to say, I'm a softie. Whichever you like is best for you.

I personally like them semi stiff, with a bit of softness towards the centre. Love Chris

I like my FSL doilies soft. I let the Vilene dissolve in the water completely so when they are dry I enjoy seeing the rayon shining and feel the softness of the thread.

There is no right or wrong way to have the doilies it's a matter of choice. Personally I don't like them as stiff as cardboard I like them semi firm. Marian

I like mine stiff because many hands touch them then after a year or so if any marks i rewash or dip them again and the marks come off hugs
