It's 3.30pm Tuesday afternoon. I had the Cortisone needle in my buttock at 11.45am and Doctor said the effects would last about 4-6 hours before the numbness wears off. Then he proceeded to say that over the next couple of days the pain should subside. I asked him what if it doesn't, well he said-

"Then you go get another referral and come back for another one!" Ain't modern medicine grand? At least I'm painfree for the time being and can face sitting down without wincing. I can even type without getting my fingers all jumbled up on the wrong letters. Drugs do wonderful things, but also mess with your timing!

Thank you all so much to those Prayer Warriors who have been fighting for me. To be able to sleep in an MRI is almost unheard of - all the technicians were amazed at how calm and peaceful I was. Thanks be to God and you Angels. Love Chris

Hi Chris, by now I hope you pain is gone. Cortisone has it's own issues, so hope yours is resolved and you don't need too much of it. Merry Christmas, from Vicki.

Hi Vicki, well, it will only last for a few hours and then I've got to wait and see if it will lessen the pain. As I said earlier if it doesn't well I'll be back for another! Love C

Thanks so much Miss Lillian, relief would be great. I love the walking it relieves it, but lying or sitting down in my chair for any length of time hurts. The Nurofen is helping at the moment. Love Chris

So you got yours in your butt? My was shot right into the nerve through the spine.......either way is unpleasant, but give it a little time and it should at least knock the edge off the pain.......praying and wishing you luck!

Hi Vicki, yes it went into the bone near the right buttock. I can feel your pain - I will give it some time I think. I'm just taking Nurofen now instead of the Tramadol. Thanks for the prayers. Love Chris

Thanks Sarah, it's still a bit uncomfortable but the Nurofen and Panadol are keeping it at bay. My Physio has given me some great exercises of which I do the first thing in my bed by doing 80 push ups. I lie on my stomach and raise myself up on my hands and relax. It strengthens the back muscles and then I can roll out of bed I'm hoping by the end of this week I'll be pain free. Keep me in my prayers. Love Chris

That's literally what it is Pauline. I looked it up on the Internet when I got home and didn't realise I had torn the muscle away from the bone. No wonder the pain is so intense. My nurse (male) who gave me the scan said no wonder I was in pain when he saw the X-rays. Then the Doctor came in and said this is going to sting a bit ------------------ whoa! It did. but walking makes me feel better - I still can't sit longer for 15 mins at a time. So today I finished off the girls Reindeer dresses in two sittings I'll post them in a minute. Can't wait to see their faces. They are all coming over on Sunday, except for Ben, Naomi and the boys. Don't get to see them much these days Love Chris

Praying that the shot has done the trick and that the pain will quickly subside, and that you are able to be back to your normal activity. So glad you had a few pain free hours, I know you will have treasured them! The pain coming back after those few hours though...., really is not pleasant but hopefully the easing of pain will be faster than they estimated. Continuing to pray. (Hugs) Pam

Thanks Pam I know I can count on you to keep me in your prayers. The pain is lessening, but I'm continuing to take the Nurofen and Panadol and have finished with the Tramadol and Valium. Sleeping well, but waking up in a sweat! I think the pain is making me like that. At least doing the exercises in the morning gives me a real good start to the day. I'll be going back to the Physio next week. I don't think I'll be going to Canberra as I just can't get comfortable in the car. Trev took me to see Spectre today (the new James Bond Movie) and I had to stand a couple of times and then
coming home in the car I was crying as I couldn't get comfortable. Ended up laying the chair down and extending the right leg out as far as possible. But, I can't do that for 5 hours driving to Canberra. I might stay home with Mum and go out with her as all our kids and their families are going camping (even Amy's dog Maisie!). Love Chris

Continued prayers for your healing, dear Chris. Please don't sit anymore than you have to for today and give that inflammation time to recede.

I hear ya Jerrilyn, but it is nigh near impossible not to sit down to do some things and as I've said before 15 mins is about my limit at the moment. I'm so glad that the Nurofen and Panadol are taking effect at least. I'm not allowed to take any more Valium as my doctor doesn't want me to get addicted to it. Love Chris

So happy to hear you finally are getting some relief. Continued thoughts a prayers for you. Sounds so much like the ganglion blocks they gave me in the neck for my RSD. But they put me to sleep for them. All but the last. The medicine didn't work for me but that's a completely different situation. God Bless

Hi Theresa, I'm glad I'm getting some relief too. It's still not perfect, but I'm getting impatient. I've never been sick in my life and it's just so frustrating. I must listen to my body more now I'm getting older. I'm hoping by the end of the weekend I'll be a little bit ' normal ' he he he! Love Chris

Thanks Sandra, yes some relief has been amazing. I hope that it will gradually subside and that I can enjoy Sunday with all the family. The kids are bringing salads and we are just having a bbq with sausages for the kids and bbq chicken for the adults. I'll make a Potato Bake and Amy will make a Pavlova. Dana said she will bring a Wombok salad which is dried noodles with cabbage and sou sauce - I can't eat it as I'm allergic to soy, but we'll have other salads as well. God bless, love Chris

Hi Fatima, yes, it's not as bad as it has been and the walking makes me feel better. I got up this morning and watered the garden and of course we had a thunderstorm! The Cortisone and whatever drugs they had in there seem to be taking effect. I'm still taking Panadol and Nurofen and hopefully by Sunday when all the family are coming over for our Christmas get together (they are all going camping) and Trev and I are meant to be going to Canberra to be with his family. The way I'm feeling I don't think I'll go and just stay home here with Mum and we'll go out together. I can't sit longer than 15 minutes and had to lie down in the car today when we came home from the movies - had an uncomfortable time in the cinema too and as I was crying with the pain in the car I had to stretch my right leg right out to the bottom of the floor. I just don't think it will be worth my while going down there for a 5 hour drive and then trying to sleep in another bed etc. Time for me to stand up for myself I think. Thanks for the good wishes, love Chris
