There are now several site with fingerless gloves made in the hoop on your embroidery machine. Search for "ITH Fingerless Gloves Machine Embroidery". Here are some made by a cutie, elemausi. The link is near the bottom of the post.

Here is one more tutorial. Most of these links that I have given use fleece, but I have also seen some made with old sweaters & socks. Some of the sweaters were felted first.

I purchased an in-the-hoop fingerless glove design from our Vicki about a year ago. Her designs are wonderful and very reasonably priced!!!! They are referred to as mitts.
