I am fussy about having felt edges show, so when I made these little elves/gnomes, I repeated the stitch for hat placement so that I knew where the fabric had to be, then flipped it after it was stitched. By that I mean, instead of stitching the hat right side up, I stitched the edge right side down, then flipped it so that there were no visible seams. The little hut is placed over a glass with a tealight inside. I am still working on the best way to do this. Glasses and children are not a very good combination. The second photo is the felt with a heavy interfacing so that it stands by itself.
You've done a very good job.
