Making bags for daughters wedding. Made this yesterday. Thick linen, lace that once was my husbands grandmothers. She passed away 1985. And hempcords on each side of the lace. Hubby thinks this bag should stay in the family, so I will give it to the bride.

Bought a foot with 3 holes for my sewingmachine, so there was no problem sewing the hemp

This is a lovely bag, and such a nice sentiment to use grandmother's lace. She would be thrilled to know her lace is still being used and for such a good reason. Definitely give this to the bride - she will cherish it.

What a great way to use this lace and passing it onto the bride. I think this beautiful purse will be cherished throughout the generations. I hope she loves it, love Chris

You have created a new family heirloom. How special she will feel as she remembers where that special lace came from and that her mom loved her enough to make this unique purse for her.

That is such a lovely idea. You could write in a keepsake notebook to keep with the bag with its story to be passed down.

What a lovely job you have made of this bag. Always hard to think of something to do with a special piece of fabric or lace and you have achieved it. Well done.
