Found this growing in the veggie garden,it weighed in at 1388 grams & about 30cms long.Can you guess what it is? 3 guinea pigs gobbled it in one go.

Looks like an Apple Cucumber to me. Or could be a Butternut Pumpkin.

It looks like a common cucumber. Apple cucumbers are "apple" shaped and almost white in colour.

You are all correct,it is some type of green cucumber that the next door neighbour gave us as a seedlings.His didn't grow very well.The cucumbers have grown along the ground as well as climbing up the frame with the passion fruit vine & over the strawberries .

Yes, you missed a cucumber when you were picking! Funny story: year ago a friend gave me some white cucumbers (yes, they really were snow white on the outside) & I saved some seeds. Hubby thought he was planting butternut squash & planted several hills, gave some to a friend too. Well about half way thru the summer he brings in this HUGE white "squash" & says, "This thing still isn't turning yellow." I said "It smells like a cucumber!" Then I remember my white cukes! We laughed & laughed...as did the man we gave them seeds too...they both had those things all over the place, but they had gotten too big to eat!
