I am sure it has never been -26C here, not even at night. It looks lovely and sunny, but I my wardrobe has nothing that would be suitable for this kind of weather!

Keep warm!

Low 20's at night but around 50 in the day. My thermometer does not have those DASH numbers on it - -10, -20, -30, -40, -50. Maybe I could help you out by sending you an Alabama thermometer? Brrrrrr! We also still have an array of colors including greens on the ground here!

That is inconceivable to us Aussies. Although we have a country of huge contrasts re weather, we never get that low. In Newcastle it's been very hot, has been in the very high 30's and was 41 on Tuesday. It's going to be around 33 today with more thunderstorms happening later this afternoon. Glad you are keeping warm and toasty though in your home. Love Chris

This is shock therapy to me. I remember a couple times it got to -40F.
I was working outside. The next day I quit. That was too much for me.
So I changed to a job that was in a freezer it was only -25 but no humidity. Something you get use to. But, never get over.
Send warm hugs your way. 39F today.

Right now we are getting a break from what we have had the past several days where we saw below 0 temps. Currently it is 25 degrees but that is going to go away again by the weekend.

We are in the mid 30s F. here, in Alabama, USA. We usually have mild winters, compared to the rest of the country. Hubby says we live in God's Country. :-)

Hi Carolyn! Your picture showing the temperature is awesome! Did you know that -40 is the same in both Celsius and Fahrenheit? I live in Oliver, southern British Columbia and right now it's +2.2Celsius at 9:00 p.m. We had snow for a few days and today we had some rain so the grass is showing in some places. This area is known as Canada's desert and it does get hot during the summers...we've had +44Celsius and then it's time to turn on the air conditioner! The last of our garden is under a tarp (carrots and swiss chard) and when I want some in the kitchen my hubby just rolls the tarp back and voila...I have fresh veggies!! I'm glad to know you have wood heat, that's the best; however, I'm still sleeping with an open window at nights.
I love reading all the responses to you...gives me an idea of where so many of the Cuties are from.
Blessings to you all and stay warm/cool wherever you are. Avis

Yesterday it got to about 40C ,then a slight nor-easter (cool breeze) got up.Then a southerly buster brought a horrible thunder storm which coursed a blackout .After about 2 hrs rang up, to find out when then power would be back on & they didn't even know the course of the blackout . Our neighbour & I both saw a orange flash & heard the loud bang afterwards .Luckily about 8.30pm the power came on but for others it was still off this morning.
Husband complained that there was no hot water to make a cup of tea because of the blackout, told him that there was plenty of hot water coming out of the hot water tap.
