Some Cuties wanted to see what I have been working on -- so here it is but they are just my test stitches. I will use the letter B (which stitched out beautifully) for the front left of a jacket. That design can be found here on Cute with the Phoenix font called firebirdfont found at the link. The dragon is from Embroidery Library but done in very different colors than they show and mirrored. I have to do the final version on the jacket back with red for the tongue. I knew what would happen but some people need to see the result of black on nearly black micro suede fabric.

Nice job! I have a jean jacket with a dragon on the back. It's one of my favorite pieces.
Your dragon's red tongue will really stand out well.

I love it when I stitch out something that just works well. Even as a test that font was smooth and perfect! I was nervous about the dragon...so many stitches!!

I am so glad you found the time to stitch. Both items are beautiful. I admire you going through the time and effort to test stitch such a involved design.

I really needed to as I had changed all the colors...and there were many (32). I needed to make sure the colors I chose would look good together on the fabric. Plus, the design are very dense! I had to make sure the fabric could handle it.

I think it will be for one of my sons. They really appreciate all the work I go to...
I will use it to showcase what I can do until they grow into it.

Thank you -- it means so much to me to have talented people say nice things about my work. That is one reason I love my Cute family. All these lovely people saying nice things about my project -- just fills my heart with joy

I thought I should add a picture and include a link to the EL design. Remember that Embroidery Library encourages users to use their own colors. Some digitizers do not -- so it is best to read the Terms and Conditions of each website prior to downloading or using the designs.

wow, i love the dragon, being an overseas chinese i am just crazy about them, am just missing the fireball. am just wondering why changing the color would be a problem, if it is only to be used as a gift for somebody? it is very expensive for me to buy threads and i usually make use of the threads i still have. i did not know about some digitisers prohibiting the change of color. sorry if i have done this in the past, will have to be more careful now, thank you for letting us know this. hugs, Mary

I'm glad you posted the original colors along with your color choices. I sometimes have trouble selecting threads that all play nice together, but your thread choices are perfect! You put a lot of thought in this and the stitchout is fabulous!

Thank you! I wasn't sure it would all work just viewing the color changes in my software. The picture doesn't show it -- but the threads shine in a way one might think dragon scales would shine. Now, to make it happen on the Jacket...

It is beautiful.Sometimes I seem to spend more time humming & harring over what colours to use, than the actual time it takes to sew out the design, especially on elaborate designs that have a lots of colour changes.
I often try out my choice of colours on a scrap of the fabric to to embroidered by sewing a line of satin stitch about 2" long .This often shows up some of your preferred colours are too pale or the ones that you didn't like ,work the best. This can be time consuming ,but the design is just right.
I love you choice the best & the font works so well with the dragon.

Thank you. Choosing the colors was the most difficult part so far. Now, I just need time to finish the project.
