Many of you know that my grandson Joshua has battled with his left leg since he had a motor bike accident over three years ago. The last few months he has been in terrible pain. My daughter decided at the end of last year a second opinion was needed.<br /><br />
Joshua has just come out of surgery after a four hour operation. The new surgeon is pleased with how it went. We now wait. Josh was very upbeat when I spoke to him yesterday. His luck just has to change.
This was taken just after his op. I can see already that his foot is straight.

I am so very sorry to read that he is still in pain. He must be one of the strongest people alive! Thinking of you and prayers for full recovery. I know some of us are handed huge trials to survive...but with his families love and support -- he will make a difference in the world. In fact, he has made a difference in my life and how I handle my daily pain.

Thank you. Unfortunately Josh had to give in his notice. He was an apprentice mechanic and they would not give him 3months off to recover which is understandable.

Sounds like the first surgeon worked miracles in saving the leg after the horrendous amount of damage received in the accident. Hopefully this recent surgery will now help give Joshua better function, less pain and allow him to move forward in his life. The leg will never be "normal", but praying that this will give him great improvements. May this be the answer to many of the issues Joshua had been trying to deal with. - ((Hugs)) Your love and concern over your grandson and his struggles can be felt in your messages. Thank you for your kind words Pam. You are right the first surgeon did do wonders but the infections that Josh kept on having were not right. It ended up with the surgeon basically saying he could do no more. That is when my daughter decided to get a second opinion. I have just spoken to Josh and he tells me that they are getting him out of bed in a while. That should be interesting. I just wish Incould see him but am so far away

I'm so happy for you Sarah and can sense how relieved you are in this post. As you know I was in hospital on Thursday and was praying for him all day. We are 9 hours ahead of you, so I worked out roughly when he would be in surgery. I'm so glad that he is finally having this operation and I know Emma will be thrilled as well as Jared.
