Hello Cuties. Has anyone used the laser light at Designs in Machine Embroidery for design placement? If so, would you recommend it? Janome has not as yet offered a clothsetter for my new 500E. I really like using the clothsetter with my 10001, and you might say I am "lost" without one for the 500E. Thanks for any guidance you can give me. Hugs, Cece

Hi Cece..I personally have not used this, but know of some that have and they like it...my Ellisimo has a camera, scanner which automatically adjust the design into the correct position so I don't even have to hoop my fabric straight...so I have no need for this...I am very familiar with the Cloth Setter as I have one for my old Janome...I personally think that the laser would be much more accurate than the Cloth Setter...Looking at the price point, I would think that if and when Janome comes out with a Cloth Setter for your machine..it would probably be more...

Thanks for the info. You are right, the laser light might be more accurate, and less expensive also. I appreciate so much your taking the time to comment. I am going to try it! Thanks again, Hugs, Cece

Hi I have seen this advertised recently and wondered how well it worked as I may be getting the 500e soon.

I consider myself still very new to embroidery and still haven't used my clothsetter yet! I think I really need to learn how.

Let us know how you get on with it

Will do, Karryn. I use the clothsetter on almost every project with my 8000 and 10000. There are some instructional you-tube videos on the clothsetter that you might find helpful. If I can help you, I will happily do so. Congrats, and hope you enjoy the 500e! Thanks for taking the time to comment. Hugs, Cece
