Antique Doily.
I have used a single three-colour, free-standing lace design, changed it to one colour, repeated four times and created this antique style doily. Love it!
The single design is called 21 - Antique Flower and comes from the Designer Lace collection by Sue Box. Also, I have used a little rosebud design that is part of 01 - Miniature Rose Set from the Golden Classic collection, by the same website.

Oh Lidia, another gorgeous doily. Love the gold lace. It is so elegant and allows the lace details to show up beautifully. I also love the roses - the ones on the doily, and the ones in the vase!! Great job.

Fabulous! I don't often see gold lace, and your use of it in this doily gives it a luxurious element. Your thread has a lovely glow to it. Not too dark or too light. I have to ask...how much thread did this take?

The lace took 290m, the inner contour stitches took 2.8m and the roses 8.5m. I presume that these lengths given by my software refer to the top thread only. For the lace I have used the same thread in the bobbin as well.

Some time ago I had downloaded your instructions on how to make the Serviette and Roses Doily. I think now I understand how you get that beautiful piece of linen (or whatever fabric you choose) in the centre. I must say that your written instructions are well done and the corresponding pictures of your progress through the project very apropos. If you don't already, you should teach classes. I must see if I can transfer the square stitching to within the design in my 5D. Again, thanks for showing us your work of art! Avis
