Edit 1/23/16-A crown for my little mermaid! Simple hand drawn and no embroidery but a perfect space for it! ...edited again later that day-I'm still playing...made the doll one too.--Update-Here is a cap I made for the dolly, out of leftovers. Here also, is one happy girl, the other one is still at school. She wouldn't take it off, so I could put the top band/cuff on-lol-I did eventually get it off so I could finish it.I've included the link and there is a view for a boys SHARK tail (blanket)!------Good morning Cuties! I just had to show you what I made, because it came out so cute! Mermaid Tails blanket! It also was so quick and easy to make. Any little girl would like this for birthdays, Christmas or in this case, just because. Cost me a total of $3.63 plus tax to make both , the childs and dolls. I got the print fleece, in remnants and the solid was $1.63 yard, at Hancock Fabrics, with my 25% off senior day yesterday. Hope you like it like the girls do!-Toogie

That doll was her moms when she was little. Nora won't keep clothes on her. Maybe she will let her wear the blanket/tails. I think she is easier for Nora to hold naked because she is a kind of heavy baby...kinda like Nora's Gram!-lol

Thank you for the heads up on this pattern. Everybody here loves them! I now have the top cuff/band sewed on. I left it long, so she would have room to kick around. I had enough of this iridescent overlay for the front, of the child's tail and enough for both sides, of the dolly's tail. I found this piece a long time ago, not buying much,as I didn't know what I would use it for. It sure made a difference here...

What a gorgeous set Toogie, I'm not surprised both girls love them. Do you just slide in at the top and make-out that the tail belongs to their body? Well done and I love the colours and such a great buy when fabric is on sale. Love Chris

Yes Chris, that's exactly how its done. Yes I thought so to about the price being good. Twice a month Hancock Fabrics has Senior day on Wednesdays. I got hubby to bring me and I was in heaven again, for a little while-lol-I just made her dolly a cap to match out of scrap fabric leftover from this...How are you feeling?
by pennifold 22 Jan 2016
Feeling a bit light headed, so I'm going to have a nap soon. Love Chiris

Thanks Jerilyn, and I bet your granddaughter loved it as much as mine does! I wish I could knit. I had just started to learn years ago, and then we moved, from the one teaching me.
by jrob 24 Jan 2016
I can knit anything.....as long as it's rectangular in shape.LOL

Thank you she loves the Little Mermaid! This pattern was intended for Avery. I wanted to make this one for her, but mom said no, as she overheats easily and this one is fleece. I thought of making one out of a cotton fabric, like a sheet weight, and leaving the back open to just cover her like a sheet. The only thing, cotton doesn't 'give' like the fleece does, when she moves her legs....we will see....
by sewdoctor 23 Jan 2016
Use a T-Shirt knit, that would "give"
by sewdoctor 23 Jan 2016
It is way too cute! I may have to make one for my granddaughter
by toogie 23 Jan 2016
That's a good idea,I may do just that, sewdoctor. Thanks

The pattern for the blanket/tail is at the link above and I just drew the crown. The child's has 5 points, doll just 3. I like to see anyone smile, makes them and you feel good. Thanks!
by toogie 26 Jan 2016
I forgot to say, sure, she will like one. All little girls wish they were mermaids at one time or another.

Just got that free pattern. Thank you--as always-how long it takes me who knows but I know I have it now. Love the glitzy fabric you chose for the fin. Will have to write that on my 'Heaven' shopping list. Yours is better than the website version. You have great ideas. Glad I know you and you'll send us to these new sites I never even knew existed.
