As some of you know, we will be getting a little boy, due the day after Easter. When I finally got to heaven, oh I mean Hancock Fabrics (lol) Wednesday, I bought this baseball fabric for him. His first name, they have decided on, is Gus. Not Augustus, just plain Gus. Does that sound like a ball player? Anyway, that was the day I bought the fleece for the mermaid tails. I also bought enough batting for a queen quilt. I purchased over 20 yards fabric, batting too, and only spent $67. I thought I did well. Do you like my pieces? I hope they show well. It's not easy standing on one leg, trying to balance all this weight AND take a photo that's not blurred...this was my third try. I love bright fabrics but rarely wear bright clothing, go figure. Just wanted to show you as Sue has some pinks, in her quilt blocks in Projects, that reminded me of some of my pieces...I need to measure but I know its over 20 yards. Some were close to the end of the bolt, so I'd just get it all.I know the baseball was regularly $9.99 yard and got it for $3. minus my 25% off senior day, so $2.25 yard if I'm figuring right. Not bad, I say. Have a good Sunday Cuties. It's really cold here but sun is shining. I'm thinking of you that are deep in snow or water........Toogie

And I don't want to get hurt again,thanks....Got anymore links for Gus? I thought of changing pad, wipe case, quilt, diaper bag (she has a Vera Bradley from Nora, not pink, a mustard color print) anyway about 5 yds of it, if you think of something.....

Great buy!!! This fabric brings back memories of me sewing for our last two children - twin boys. One summer I sewed shorts and pants for the both of them - four pairs of each shorts and pants for each of them. I did it assembly line and finished them in no time. Saved us a good amount of money! Can't wait to meet Gus!! Hugs!

Thursday she has a 4D ultrasound done and we should be able to see him good. I would have liked to have gone but the rooms are so small....I use to make the older grands, when they were little short sets too, with ball caps to match. I had a pattern for a short romper,I loved. I say had, because its been lost or loaned out, for a long time and I really liked that pattern. Made a bunch and all looked different because of fabric choices.

Sometimes a trip to the fabric or craft store is just what we need to cure our ills. Bringing home that bag of supplies and creating with it is even better.

You got that right Bev..I was getting depressed, big time. I have just ironed a couple pieces, still sitting, and I'm thinking of making another wallet. No large pieces to cut. We will see. ...I am so tired of hearing re-runs of Gunsmoke,Bonanza,and ball games!!! Nine more days for sure and then I'll see if I can go to the walker. My left foot hasn't touched the floor in so long I may have forgotten how to walk!

Oh I haven't, but its only 9 more days, before I go back to the doctor!!! I can sew, at least, again. I am slower but what the hurry?-lol

Thanks Carolyn, I'm so glad I got out. I told my husband to go to the tool store, that I could wheel myself around and if I needed help, well there are plenty women in there to help me!

I'm using some now because I can't get to my other fabrics, even tho it's just a love seat, in my way. It feels so good to be productive again!

A great lot of bright fabrics Toogie, you did very well with this purchase. You will make lots of lovely things with this stash. Not long before little Gus arrives , and i am sure you will have lots of embroidery ready. Sandra.

No, I'm way behind. I only made him 2 burps, and emb a onesie, I posted in Projects months back. A friend of mine is having her first grandson the same time as we are getting ours. She has made so many things I told her I don't want my daughter to see, makes me look bad-lol-My friend Nancy does beautiful work.

Firstly, congratulations on that upcoming little boy in your family-My only grandson just turned 16 and got a driver's permit! All the rest are girls. I am loving your stash building. I tell myself==no==don't buy any more fabric===then I tell myself==buy 2 yds of this and that to have on hand since I am tired of not having on hand. Then I tell my husband if I die some other lady out there will love me, or him, or whoever in my family would sell it cheap as dirt. I love JoAnn's and Hancocks but still where I live there is nothing close by. Have to travel miles to get there so only get there if their is a need to shop other stores nearby. Can't ever shop with a husband in tow.

Great shopping. I know what you mean about not being able to get to your fabric. My fat quarters are "conveniently" stashed in covered, clear, underbed boxes under the bed and I'm still too scared to get down on the floor, in case I can't get back up. I used to pull the 3 boxes out like drawers and sit amongst my fabrics and match colors by the light from the window. Well, I've just not been making appliques since May!
