When Miss Ava called to tell her baby alive has run out of diapers & could I maybe make some for her, well how could I say no. She got this doll for Christmas & it is the new IT toy for her & she takes it every where. She has been using disposable diapers that come with the doll & then drying them out every day. These diapers have tiny beads much like the real ones so they are falling apart. When she gives this doll a baby bottle she then wets herself. So I made a half dozen out of fleece for her. & since she told me that she only has 2 outfits & no jammies & she sent her to me with nothing on but a diaper I made this little housecoat too. When I gave them to her last night she was thrilled. Kids & Fleece are so forgiving lol. As you can see the yellow one does up on the sides but it doesn't hold as well so I changed the rest & did them all with a wide strip velcro & they hold much better so hoping there will not be any "accidents" with this design

Awesome job! Lucky baby even gets lace and embroidery on her house coat! Your pattern making skills have served dolly well, fleece was an excellent choice! It also looks like they have had dolly at the hospital as she seems to have a dressing on her knee, with the nurses signature of dressing change. How much easier it is today to make things with velcro and fleece than when we had to have buttons or small bias tie strings to hold on our baby dolls diapers!

I think the 3 of you are all so fortunate to have each other. You are the best grandma and Miss Ave and her dolly must give you lots of hugs.

Miss Ava is a lucky girl to have a grandma who just loves to sew. Beautiful clothes you have made her dolly, and i am sure there will probably be lots more over the coming years. You have done a wonderful job with these. Grandmas are so special. Sandra.

These remind me of the diaper covers I made Avery when she was born. I will be making Nora's doll soon. Mom doesn't want changes, until NORA can dress the doll-lol-mom doesn't have time to.

this is so true toogie, I added larger strips of the Velcro to make it easy for Miss Ava to do this herself. ~hugs~
