Good evening/morning Cuties. I just had to share these pictures with you. Today was Ophelie's first day of school and Trevor and I went into see her. She was so surprised as she wasn't expecting to see us. Trev put my cushions on the front passenger seat for me and I laid on my side as we drove in. Thankfully it's only a 16 minute drive to O's new school.

Last night I had only the second night's best sleep I've had since I was diagnosed with these issues. I slept from 12.00 till 5.30 when I always wake up. Today has been more comfortable too. I still can't sit for too long, but I just stand up. After school I went to my Italian classes and sat and stood for the 3 hours or so. It was so nice to be back.

Anyway, I just had to share Ophelie's comments when Amy asked how her first day of school was and she said -

"Mummy, it was better than kissing Ethan".

When I read this comment I laughed out loud. Some of you would have seen pictures of her 'boyfriend' who was born only a couple of months after her. One of her best friends Kristen has Ethan, Maeva and new baby Olive.

Out of the mouths of babes hey! Love to you all and thanks for your continued prayers.

Love Chris

1. Ophelie and me.
2. Ophelie and Trevor.
3. Steve with Delphi and Ophelie.
4. Ophelie on her own.
5. Steve, Ophelie and Me on bench seat.

She looks so excited and happy! She couldn't be cuter. I'm so glad you are feeling better and able to get out more. Keep up the good healing.

Oh! She was Karen. Amy was a bit emotional, but came good. She rang me last night in tears and I knew exactly why she was in tears. She just can't believe that her little girl is now going to 'big' school. Ophelie's teacher said she was delightful. Her teacher is gorgeous too, I met her this morning and she is musically talented too! So I hope Ophelie learns an instrument. Also thanks for your prayers. I'm off to collect Mum in the morning first time driving for about a week. Trev is letting me rest, but I did drive last Wednesday to my Weight Watchers meeting. I've now lost 11kgs since November - very proud of myself. Love Chris

Hi Chris,
She is such as beautiful little girl as is all the family. It is nice that you were able to share this special day with her. Happy to hear that you are getting some (even a little goes a long way) relief. Take care my friend and listen to your body, even if you don't like what it is saying lol,
hugs

You know what I'm going through and this post made me smile. Thanks for your concern. I'm being very good, not doing much throughout the day - getting a bit edgy though, I want to sew!!!!!!!!!!! Never mind I'm just resting and so far this is what is helping me. As I told Karen I'm off to the hairdressers in the morning. Lucky for me it's just at my shopping centre only 300metres away. Mum is only a 4 minute drive, so thankfully it isn't far. I'm dying to get some work done, but I'm listening/feeling to what my body is telling me. And you've hit the nail on the head! I don't like what my body is telling me!!!! Love Chris

Just wanted to show you how close I am to my shopping village. It's literally just up the road from my house. It has the blue roof on it! Love Chris

Thanks Betsey, yes all children in Primary School wear uniforms here in Australia. Also High School, saves a lot of washing and peer pressure into buying the latest "fad". Love Chris

Oh, Chris, you better print and have a couple of these pictures framed!!! How adorable - I just love her braids! I use to braid my Katie's hair zillions of years ago - I can't believe Ophelia is old enough for school - time goes by so fast! I don't know how you are managing with all your pain! It has to be so difficult! Take good care of yourself!! Hugs, Laura*

Hugs to you too Laura. I'm getting there slowly. I've just got up about half an hour ago (6.34 now) and slept peacefully again. I actually slept a couple of hours on our couch yesterday afternoon - I NEVER SLEEP IN THE DAY!!!! So I must have needed it. I agree with you about Ophelie, I can't believe it either. I've been posting her since I've had her and now she is a ' big ' school girl. We need to hold onto our children and keep them safe! Yes, Amy is a good plaiter - she also braids too. Love Chris

Hi Kim, yes, she certainly has grown up. She is the tallest in the class too. Apparently when she is fully grown she is supposed to be around 6feet tall! My niece in Canberra the Physiotherapist is 6ft tall also! Love Chris

Hi Carolyn, yes, we all have big smiles - lots of teeth I suppose! Plus it's such a wonderful climate here in Newcastle and the first day of school was just perfect weather wise. We have our hottest month now in February! How is your temperature still lots of degrees below zero? I don't know how you cope! When I read of the death of Henry Worsley from England who was only about 30miles from his destination on January 24th this year (he was following the Shackleton route in the Antartic) he was in freezing conditions like you get. Thanks Sandra, yes, she just took to school like a duck to water. I'll have Delphi this Friday and as I've said before having 1 is so much easier - no squabbles!!! Thanks for the kinds words about me getting better, it's been wonderful to have some night sleep again without waking in pain. I'm getting better day by day and I believe it's just letting my body rest up. It's been hard for me - but I'm learning!!! he he he! Love Chris

Thanks Kerry, I have a special bond with both girls as I was at their births. It's been such a privilege watching them grow and I am thankful for such beautiful teachers who will mold them into intelligent little girls. Enjoy your time on Thursday with your girls too. Love Chris

Save these pictures for her! She will cherish them some day! Love her dress and hat. My daughter wore a purple cotton print dress I made for her the first day of school and never wore another dress again as they all wore jeans. I hope your granddaughter likes her dresses. Kay

Hi Kay, I know Amy will keep these pictures. The dress she is wearing is the School Uniform. All the girls wear them and the boys have shorts and shirts. Thanks for commenting, love Chris

Bless her innocent heart, I'm sure in 10yrs or so school might not rate so high against boys. Her red and grey uniform looks very smart, down here in my neck of the woods most are blue and white or variations of. Marian

Thanks Marian, yes it's a very smart uniform. All of our children wore blue and white gingham in Primary with a touch of maroon. At St. Mary's High it was more maroon and then in college another lot of blue, maroon and white. I love uniforms and Phels looks great in anything. Love Chris
