I am just back from the doctor. I don't know what I expected but to actually hear another month, of no weight bearing (in this chair), is disheartening. I will be starting physical therapy to help with bending the knee. He has put me in a hinged brace for that purpose....has anyone heard from Carolyn? I am concerned for her traveling in all that snow and so far too.

Yuck! What does he think you can do? Twiddle your thumbs? Hopefully, this will do the trick. As for the physical therapy, you will look back with fondness on Girl's Phys. Ed. classes and childbirth, by comparison!

You sound as encouraging as my daughters...I suppose they want to prepare me for the 'pain' of getting moving again...I guess I'll keep scrolling the net for pattern and ideas.....

I came on Cute and your post was the first I saw. I already responded by saying I'm glad you're home (&here) safe....Sorry about the stiffness, I guess we both are stiff....sounds like we are all in the same boat, maybe we need a ship for you, me, Chris, others....a cruise ship.-lol

Maybe girls we could go "On the good ship lollipop, its a sweet trip to the candy shop, where bon-bon's play, on the sunny beach of peppermint bay!"

I think it would be wonderful to just sit around all day and be pampered, don't you? Sending healing prayers your way Toogie and Carolyn. Love Chris

Sorry to hear you are still immoblized, but that's a step in the right direction now with the expectation of doing therapy. That's the best thing you can do for yourself - the physical therapy. Hope all goes well.

I called as soon as I got home and faxed the script to the PT office. I got an appointment for Friday morning. I was kind of hesitant to go to this PT, as he is friends with my husband, and my daughter worked her training under him. My husband thinks he will take good care of me because of that reason..... What do they say about not mixing friends and business....

Even though you have to wait another month hope fully the physical therapy will do you some good. Helping to bend the knee is going to make it easier when the brace eventually comes off. Take it easy in the meantime, see lots of looking for new projects, and maybe some reading too. As we are all getting that bit older it takes time to mend, even though our patience is getting tried sometimes . Sandra.

So sorry to hear about your knee and leg. I know exactly how you feel. I too had to wear the same brace for over a month due to a bad car accident where I lost my patella. I had to go to Rehab to learn to walk again. My only advice to you is to see that the straps are not too tight, because I developed a DVT and that was far worse than the injury and changed my life forever. I pray that you have a speedy recovery and give yourself time to heal. Love Lynette

Think of it as the next step to full recovery, it will hurt but just keep on thinking one day it won't. Also a trip on the good ship lollypop with Chris and Carolyn sounds like fun, do you think they have built a ship that will hold all cuties now that would be a dream trip.. Marian

Well, I say congrats on making a milestone. I know it is disheartening to be off your feet for yet another month, but look at the PT as ensuring you are going to get back on your feet soon. And it will be a safe more comfortable transition to weight bearing.

Toogie, I know you hate being in the wheelchair, Prayers continuing that the leg can heal and you will be able to learn whatever it is, that the Lord would have you learn though this trial you are going through, Pam

I'm sure it was disappointing. Maybe if you look at it as one month of sitting still so you will be mobile the rest of your life it won't seem so bad. Hope you have lots of hand work, books, knitting etc. to keep you busy and the grands to visit and entertain yo.
