So proud of myself. Bought the upgrade hoops and program for the Brother VE2200 and have just completed updating my machine to current version and then upgrading my machine to new hoops, following not the best instructions in the world. It seems to all be in place, with now an 8x8 (200x200 mm) quilting hoop and a 12x8 (300x200 mm) hoop. Yay! You'll never hear from me again! hehehe

Thank you. Yes, now that I'm all set, I can't think of all the ones that didn't fit before. Time to look back through CD cases!

I have just bought a new hoop for my Janome and I have to update programme & machine. Hubby was asking last night if Brother did the same thing. I am a bit confused about the updating part. I had a nightmare dream about it last night and that has made me even more nervous. But I guess I will just have to have a go and do it. Wish me luck. Hugs Shirley

My Brother VE2200 has issued several little updates (on the Brother-USA site, listed by machine) to tweak problems. They did ask me to update everything before adding the upgrade.

Sometimes new things on the computer befuddle me. And I used to know how to program! It's the when to put it into the computer and how to get it over to the machine and being very careful to get the proper authorization numbers!

Congratulations. Am not so adventourous with using the big hoops but have been getting a lot of inspirations from our cutie family so am hoping to get some from you as well. Enjoy and have fun. :-)

Every right to be proud. It always feels so good when we manage to do things by ourselves. Well done and many happy hours ahead.

I have a Brother VE2200 as well... I didn't know that I could upgrade it to use 8x8 and 12x8 hoops. I've been looking for instructions on internet and coming up empty. Where did you find the "not the best instructions"?

I'm so excited I can hardly stand myself! --Sharon

I found the upgrade and hoops, but all say "dealer-purchase" only. Is that what you did?
by graceandham 07 Feb 2016
Yes, purchased at dealer. It included the software to upgrade, the two hoops and a nice selection of large designs for the big hoop. The instructions were in the included booklet, but as usual, it didn't take you step-by-step from start to finish. So, you get the info loaded into the computer, now what? How to put over to the machine and onto which screen? After I figured it all out, much later, I found some sketchy directions in, guess where, the original owners' manual.

I'm not near a dealer, but might make a trip to the shop where I bought my machine for this! There are no prices posted on the internet anywhere. Would you mind sharing how much this cost?

The cost of a upgrade will depend where you are in the universe. I suggest that you contact your local Brother dealer and ask them
by graceandham 30 Jul 2016
Minus was $289. minus a 20% discount coupon from my dealer, plus taxes, so it came out to right at $250 for me. I have gotten $500. of fun out of it so far!

hungry because of the cost or that you were too busy to care about anything else as you were sewing
