Love the hollyhocks, I saw them in person three years ago, when I was in Europe. These plants are impressive, so tall and colourful..... I had to stitch them out! I have used a design (twice, mirrored) from the Traditional Homes and Gardens collection by Sue Box. My outline.

Thank you, Martine. I have stitched the design out on felt to get a table mat, that's why I have placed the finished project on a tablecloth, with a cup beside it, but when I placed the cup onto it, I realised that I liked it better as a doily than a table mat. So you are right to call it a doily :)

Gosh, you've done it again. I only got the email from Sue today and there was your beautiful doily. I love the way you've place your cup with the red flowers to balance up with the red hollyhocks on the plate. AND I LOVE THE BLUE CLOTH!!!! It's beautiful. Love Chris

Looks beautifull, love the patchwork cloth too. Have hollyhocks in my garden too, if you have one plant you get a lot.

The patchwork cloth is a printed fabric I bought sometime ago, I sewed the four sides and it became a tablecloth :)
