Woodland Treasures Quilt for my new Granddaughter.
This design set is from Sue Box and it is masterfully digitized! Each and every stitch is placed exactly where it should be! She makes my small effort shine because she has put in such painstaking work!.
It is hand quilted.

Oh! Deb, this is just superb. Sue Box does do fabulous work and her little critters are just delightful! I love the colours you've chosen and the placement. I am so impressed with your hand quilting. I just wouldn't have time to sit and do that. I send my quilts away. I bet it was fabulous just sitting doing it though. Love Chris
1 comment
Thanks so much, Chris. It was actually good therapy to sit and quilt this since I had two cancer scares during its creation. I wish I was good at stippling - since the cross hatching looks like the ready quilted stuff you can pick up at the local fabric shop! :-/ LOL!

This is a super quilt. You did a wonderful job. I am so impressed by the hand-quilting. Just keeping those lines straight and even distance would be a challenge.
Thanks! But I find trying to line up "endless" embroidery designs more challenging! LOL! And it's easier to "fudge a little" with hand quilting to get things to fit.

It's very beautiful. Both the designs and your exquisite hand quilting.
Your darling granddaughter will have something from you to treasure and feel your love through for all of her life.
Just looking at it makes my hands long to sit with soft fabric and see it come together.

Thank you! As much as love machine embroidery - I still have a need to do something by hand - gives me a great sense of satisfaction.

A very special quilt. Beautifully quilted and embroidered. Hope this stays in your family for many decades
1 comment
I sure hope so. I stitched a label on the back with all the information on it with this in mind. I have a lot of quilts that "someone" in the family made but, with no label nor name and date, I have no idea the history of the piece. Moral of this tale LOL! SIGN YOUR Work! Hugs*

Your quilt is simply fabulous! I admire your patience in completing a rather intricate designs and hand quilting. I am a fan of cross hatching and it really lets the embroidery shine. How old is your grand daughter?
Thanks, Penny! This was the first embroidered quilt I've actually made...I wasn't sure how to handle the quilting within the blocks. I like the way it turned out. My granddaughter will be 1 year old next month - at least she got her quilt before she goes off to college, LOL! Hugs!*
