My friend found this very old cloth in a bag of jumble sale donations. The edging is exquisite hand crochet. It had a couple of nasty stains. One is now under the duck and the other under one of the flowers. It was beautifully hand hemstitched as well, but that was breaking away in many places so I used an heirloom stitch to go over it.
The designs are from the Cute Duckling font. I used the "R" but missed out the letter for the main design and just used the flower for the rest.

It turned out beautiful! The duckie looks a bit vintage-style and works perfectly with the crochet edging. Nice work and nice save!

Great save and I love the way that you carried out the design in the lace on the body.

What a find. Is it a pillow case or a tray cloth?

What a clever idea. I love the vintage linens. Have some that
have stains but never thought of putting embroidery over them.
Will dig them out of my box and turn them into useful again.
Thanks
