Adorable adult children: My daughter was home and brought her laundry home with her. She had not used my new washing machine yet and I would be at work so I decided to code the detergents to help her out. The detergent and stain booster go in the left compartments and the softener goes in the right compartment. I wrote in Sharpie on the bottles 1. left (detergent), 2. left (stain booster), 3. right (softener), so she would know which liquid goes into which compartment.
Later I asked her how the system worked out. She said, "What system?" I explained and then she explained that she thought those numbers meant that I had 1 bottle left of detergent until I had to buy more etc.
But she had done her laundry just fine and didn't need me anyway.
