Tomorrow is Mother's Day and also Baby Dedication Day, at church. So I have washed and ironed, once again, for my last grandchild's dedication.
I hand embroidered this over 10 years ago, for Avery's dedication. There is a CD you can purchase, with these designs, however. It's called Le Petit Oiseau Bleu by Wendy Schoen. I purchased mine through Home Sew, but I think Martha Pullen Company sells them too. I bought the machine emb designs, after I hand embroidered this. The pattern for the gown, apron and bonnet is called Heavenly Bliss.
Some of you may remember Nora wearing it, at her dedication two years ago or a photo of Avery, when she wore it. Maybe you won't mind looking again, with the ones who may have missed it.
To all of you Cutie mothers, I wish you a Happy Mother's Day-Toogie
Hugs, Roberta
Happy Mother's Day.
Hugs, Angelika
As much as I enjoy my embroidery machine and the quickness to finish a project, I will always think hand embroidery is so so much more.. But then it was my first love from a child.
Yours is absolutely gorgeous.. definitely a family heirloom
He was so good today and looked just like the baby he is. Precious..
Hugs, Lidia
She is the one picked this out to be stitched in blue just like in the magazine. I think the article about the pattern, was in Issue #80. I purchased the pattern separately. I purchased these tatting laces from the Smocking Bonnet, if memory serves me, but I would have loved to have been taught tatting by your grandmother!
Avery and Nora both wore Ashley's Feltman Brother dresses, she wore as a baby. I saved them and we still are saving them. My favorite for Ashley was in pale pink, with the tiniest tucks all along the top, of the little dress neck. It was embroidered in white and had scallops of lace, at the hem. The matching slip had them too, but was sleeveless and buttoned at the shoulder. She also had a pink sailor dress trimmed with white, I loved to put on her chubby little body.-lol-Thanks for taking me down memory lane and your sweet comments-Toogie
thanks for sharing this Beautiful dedication gown. I had to make a Baby dress and you inspired me to use the same designs. I'm still working on my dress but I used the machine embroidery designs and they turned out great! Thanks for sharing and doing such a Beautiful gown!
