UPDATE on Joshua
First of all I just want to thank you all for the posts you have taken trouble to write. This last week has been too dreadful. I was speaking to Josh every day and I could tell he was scared stiff but trying to be brave for his mum and brother. The op took two and half hours. He had a very good night last night and I spoke to him early this morning. I hope I will not offend by posting a picture.

Thank you Pam. It was the only answer for Josh to get his life back
Our grandson had a motorcycle accident a few years ago where he lost his left leg below the knee. He later had to have it removed above the knee and now has an artificial leg which let him lead a normal life. One hates to see anyone have to go through such an ordeal but usually they come out stronger than before the experience of their loss.
It is so hard to see a family member go through this experience but with prayers and support all will come through this stronger.

I regret that, for my own reasons, I have not been aware of the background to your post which clearly relates to one of ongoing and serious concerns for a family member. May I wish Joshua well for a speedy recovery and may I say that from my point of view, you have no reason to be concerned about posting the picture.

Dennis, thank you. He had a motor bike accident 4 years ago. Surgeons have done all they could. It was a hard decision for Josh but I think the right one.
Good on the lad for displaying such fortitude.

He will obviously have days of depression but I hope they will be few. He is very determined.

I keep thinking of him as a little boy. He was so happy. The accident nearly destroyed him.

I'm so glad Josh had a very good night. He is young, so he'll heal nicely. He is active, so he'll learn to do things again, maybe a little differently, but I have faith he will succeed. My best to you all-Toogie
