I have used best quality thick velvet. She wanted wine colour and design in gold and silver metallic thread.
Used plastic/fibre sponge (i don't know right word) to make bag stand.
She was happy and liked the bag.

The hardware you chose is a nice contrast to the softness of the purse. Great stitchout on the velvet. I have trouble stitching on velvet.
