Evening bag. My big sister is going on a cruise and told me she was looking out for an evening bag. I knew I had black and purple satin so I doodled this design while I was away on holiday. I wanted a 3D applique flower and the purple satin screamed pansy to me. The two petals at the back are appliqued directly onto the flap and the other three petals are made in one piece and added before stitching the flower centre. <br /><br />

This was my first embroidery project after nearly five weeks away from my machine and I made so many mistakes, but I think I got away with it!

The bag now has a matching little purse. I used a Kam snap instead of stitching the flower centre. Not sure that I like it!
