UPDATE: I have been to see the specialist this morning. He recommends physical therapy & I now have an air cast on my ankle as well as the full leg brace. He thinks I will have to wear these for at least 3-5 weeks. Apparently when the nurse put my brace on my leg on Friday she did not put it on the right way? There is a groove in this thing that should line up with your knee & she had it about 5 inches below. It is fortunate that I remained with my leg laying flat for most of the weekend otherwise I could have damaged it more. he said he would be speaking to them about this. I didn't know since I have never had one but I am glad I was careful. I couldn't understand why I was able to bend my knee over the weekend & how wearing this would make it any better & now that he has put it on correctly I can how it will heal much better because now I can not bend my knee at all! Much less pain this way for sure! Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers. After coming home from hospital this morning I headed straight for the dentist's office & he was able to repair the portion of my tooth that broke off on Friday so I am put back together lol for now anyway.

Are you able to use your embroidery machine? That may help pass some time ,whatever you do do it carefully.

I am trying to learn to navigate the stairs & if I can get the hang of it I will try to get to my studio to stitch something. At least the pain is more manageable than it has been so that is a good thing

Be careful just because you may not be able to feel pain does not mean you should do stuff that could possibly injure you more

I'm so glad you were careful and the doctor was able to fix things up so you are more comfy and will now heal. Good news is so welcome after what you have been through in the past few weeks.

Glad to hear how you got on at the hospital today. They all have their own way of doing things as I found out this morning when I took hubby back for the 6th time. No I was told no tape on the legs. I said I had only been doing as I had been shown by the nurse on the day. So now we are getting the District Nurse to call 3 times a week to change the dressings. This should have been organized in the 1st place. Glad you got your tooth fixed. Now rest up and enjoy your hubby waiting on you. Hugs Shirley

Oh Shirley, what a mess when they all tell you different things so confusing for you both! I am glad that you have the District Nurse on hand now to help with the changing of his dressings. Each day is a challenge but then the next day is better. Keeping you both in my prayers. ~hugs~

I cringe at the mistakes made by nurses these days. They are so needed these days their instructors and mentors and trainers are not spending enough time with them to make sure they are fully educated and trained in the tasks they perform. Her mistake could have caused you a lot of harm. So sorry you have to go through all this. It will take time but you will have better days. Many hugs 4 U/ Lillian
