My shirt jacket:

I found this a our Goodwill ( I love the look of linen but hate the way it wrinkles, so when I can find a linen polyester fabric I get it). This shirt was a large so I took it apart and recut it leaving the collar and sleeves cuffs together and then resewed it. with new buttons making t fit me I'm a size 4 or 6.

You did an excellent alteration for yourself. Love linen too but you're right about wrinkling. This is pretty for the summer.

Love finding treasures for a fraction of the cost at the thrift stores. My family often laughs because it seems every time I go into Goodwill I find money or treasures forgotten in the pockets. Your alterations were fantastic. Being as small as you are you could alter most sizes down and finding those of your perfect choice of fabric and color was a perfect match for you. Great Job again, Pam

That looks great! I need to learn how to do this because I'm small as well. If you make a tutorial, please let me know! :-)

Most patterns I buy are to long waisted for me and do not seam to fit me.
So I took and old jacket no collar and maybe not lined one you think fits you nice, take it apart and use it for all your jackets you want to make it is very easy to change the neckline and the sleeves also maybe even the length add designs and even the front but kept the body of the jacket the same that way it will all ways fit. My secrect to a nice fitting jacket.

adorable blouse! I think I will try your method as gathering the shoulder seam looks a bit funky.
