Good morning Cuties!<br /><br />
A friend called and asked if I would like some fabrics that were her moms. I didn't need any but also didn't want to be rude, so I said sure I'd take them, but didn't she know anyone else that could use some. She said not really so.........I washed these stacks. I placed a few pieces, on the outer edges, that I really liked so you could see. There is also, I big piece of denim, under the blue/pink stripe fabric, in the middle. <br /><br />
But this is only a small portion of it! I have one 13 gallon garbage bag, that I may or may not keep. I have 5 (13 gallon bags) I'm giving to an aunt of mine.I will never sew it all up and don't have space for it either. <br /><br />

Also Saturday my (ex)BIL brought me some fresh corn. I thought yea! Then I saw how much....over 5 bushels!!! Have you ever shucked, washed and tried to get all the silks out,cut off the cob and put up so much at one time??? My husband helped and it nearly did us in, but we got 32 quart bags out of it. I didn't leave any on the cob. The grand kids like it on the cob, but takes up so much room in the freezer.<br /><br />
I just wanted you to see/hear about the blessings I've received.....don't you think that bright pink/gold/orange would make Avery a pretty summer dress?<br /><br />

You are truely blessed! If you got too much fabric by now which is almost impossible :-) maybe there is a chance to sell or donate via facebook groups. We do have this in Germany - in some groups the donated person pays the transport fees which is very fair.

When I can't get rid of the overflow, I will have to check into this. So far I have a sister who quilts now, an aunt, and a friend I can give to. But soon I know they will be like me. However, since out Hancock fabrics is closing and we don't have a Joanne's, there will only be Hobby Lobby or Walmart, when we need something.
I have so many things I want to make but not enough time to get it all done.

Corn sounds delicious and tedious! Look for a quilt guild to donate - there are ladies at my church here who make machine quilted quilts for the mentally challenged in group homes. Most of the folk have never had someone make something especially for them!

Yes, my husband thinks its not worth the trouble, as its hard on our backs.
If the pieces are suitable for a quilt and large enough we make our prayers quilts. We don't piece blocks though, as most don't have the time or skill to do.

I think so too jenne. I have made purses, quilt, pants,etc. This piece will probably be enough to make Nora or Avery something.

I'm glad they shared with me. We eat a lot of soups in the winter especially, so corn will come in handy. Blessed and thankful-Toogie

Indeed I am!..When Ashley was little we used to go up to school and can our corn, shell peas,etc. They had a department building the public could go, in the summer, and they had a huge pea sheller and for a little charge you could use the facilities. Well, as I said I cut the corn off the cob. Ashley loved corn on the cob, but she also liked 'school corn' we put up. She didn't realize it was the same corn-lol-as long as she would eat it, we called it 'school corn'.-lol

Now that was a great day! What pretty fabrics too. I can see a lot of new dresses and bibs in the future for you to make. I know you are going to make many people happy with the donations of the fabrics you can't use. Blessings on you to bless so many. Enjoy your corn. It will be so tasty. I just finished making up 10 trays of sweet peppers for the dehydrator. Want some to go with your corn?

Are those the yellow banana peppers? My hubby eats those, actually eats most peppers. I have too sensitive of a stomach, so I usually leave the peppers to him.
He and his brother planted over 100 hills of potatoes, It rained so much the ones that did come up rotted in the ground. My nephew dug his and they rotted soon after, even though he had them laid out in his big shop hanger with 2 huge fans on them. It's really a shame after buying seed/fertilizer and working the ground........

I guess it would cook your meat along with the corn.......I only found 2 or 3 green worms-lol- in all I had.

The best I counted and this is a rough estimate, so may have more, but at least 180 ears of corn, I had to put up.

Blessed and double blessed Toogie. I love the green floral fabric which is already quilted too! You are right too the orange floral fabric would make up into a lovely summer shift. The flowers remind me of Hibiscus. Have a great time sorting them all into their boxes. Love Chris

They may have to go into boxes, as I am out of clear drawers. I also want that loveseat out of my sewing room, either back in my bedroom, since I can walk again or out of the house! At this point I don't care which.

That photo (2nd photo) was before the love seat, out of my bedroom was moved, in front of my drawers. They moved it out of my bedroom, for me to get around better in the wheelchair. Now I'm walking, no one has bothered to move it back out. The fabric that was just given is stacked on the love seat (1st photo).

Yes, now if someone would bring me that much okra................lol- I am waiting for an order to come in, before I bring the fabric to my aunt. She lives about an hour away and I ordered her some hand quilting thread I want to give her, too.

The fabric in the drawers I had already, purchases here and there. The fabric I was just given is stacked on the white love seat in the first photo. Not sure where it'll go-lol-she does love me and I her. I met her when Ashley(now 35) was in her class in 3rd grade and we have remained friends, all these years.

Very organized. I am working on my stuff also. My sewing room is torn half way apart. I got a haul last Saturday also. Maintenance man at our Extension Office told the secretary about his neighbors yard sale saying she had sewing stuff. I got an email from that secretary. So, Saturday I went to the yard sale. Spent $32.00 and had my car loaded down. Plastic totes, plastic drawer towers and so much stuff. Trims with beads, 4 drawers full of scrapbooking stamps, ink pads, fabrics, shears, craft foams, trims and cording--just too much to even remember what I got. And here I told my husband I was going to downsize. Ha! I want to go back and see if what she still has and make an offer. Got too hot Saturday--In the 90's and so humid. Wished I was by you to get the fabrics you didn't want---hey girl--we are made the same!!!!
