Hello Cuties,

These first two burp cloths stitched well. One I stitched before, but not the other.
The two in the second photo...well you can see for yourself. I'm throwing the brown spool of thread I used on the monkey. It kept fraying and splitting. Pulled the burp off the stabilizer I had it pinned to, so it never finished the little boots, as I couldn't ever get it hooped to match up again. Started to just throw the burp, as it never stitched the monkeys tummy for whatever reason, but its good to use at home, so I finished it with ribbon.
The ladybug is the one I broke so many needles on. It is dense in most places, except the hat.
The last one I tried something different. Used loops of ribbon and a wider ribbon across the front. Back only has the wider ribbon. I should have brought the cupcake design down more, oh well I'm done, I hope, as my grandson has a project for me to make for him.

I hope it goes smooth sailing as it is not something I enjoy making, but I said I would. A baby bed set.

With all the problems you had, they still turned out great. Love the way you coordinate the border and design.

I was trying to match the color of the ladybug to the fabric, but the black hat and the dots were 1 color and I should have been watching to stop it...............I just hope SIL likes them.

I saw one at a baby shower a few weeks ago. The design was a beautiful saddle. The wide ribbon was (I can't think right now, senior moment) like red handkerchief but was ribbon, over the colored ribbon like the colors used in the saddle. The baby theme shower was a little cowboy.

As usual stunning work. Are the pre folded nappies (diapers) cheap in USA? Here we would use a hand towel for burp cloths. In fact I don't think I have seen nappies like this our cloth or towelling ones are flat.

These are prefolded, but I turn back the outer edges to meet the stitching for the center wad, and stitch over the center wadding stitching for each side. Then I embroider and finish the ends. I paid $18.70 for a pack of ten.

I looked at Walmart for the diapers----aren't they expensive now--I guess because most people use all the throw away stuff. I always preferred the cotton and to wash them but today's mom's are on the go so much more.

All of these are Gerber diapers. However, the "pretty as a Princess' came from Walmart and the others from Target. Target ones are the ones I just paid $18.70 and I really like them. the other is more gauzy.
by babash 11 Jul 2016
That is a good price $1.87 each I would have expected minimum of $5 each.

Golly--all are cute. I don't even think anyone would notice the monkey at all. That piece of thread I got stuck in my spring of the thread guide was shredding and breaking. I found I have to lower my tension from 4.0 to about 3.6. I also found that when I finally found the thread to start unwinding a new spool and thought it was right I found it not right and had to untangle from one more cross-wound thread. That made it pull and snap the thread like a spring.

I had to set my tension at -1. I didn't even know you could sew in the minus, but it will go from +8 to -8 after breaking those needles on the ladybug.

Your burp clothes are all so cute. I know they will be liked. I made a burp cloth with one of the monkey set. It turner out so cute and did not have any trouble sewing it. Every one loved it. I did not take a picture of it, wish I had. Joyce
