I like my little travelling iron better. The little triangle one did not seem to do the job as well. It may also be a brand issue.

I looked at the price of the little ones and bought a travel iron instead!

Yes I have both never used the triangular one maybe one day small travelling iron often mainly when I have been on quilting course

I do and yes it's great for small applique pieces. only I don't turn it off and on using there button it doesn't hold up, I just unplug mine. leaving it on high all the time.

I use a travel iron, fits in all my hoops! Purchased it for a few dollars at a second hand shop!

I too have one and use it for applique and other odd things. I purchased mine with a coupon at JoAnn Fabrics years ago.

I love mine. I use it mostly for the bias tape when doing stained glass type quilts. I have used it to dry wss mixed with water and stuck under a piece I was embroidering (repairing something) because it fits in the hoop as baydreamer stated.

I always burn myself with the small triangle one I have. I have a travel iron I use.

A lot depends on what you plan to use it for. I have both and each serves a purpose. The little one is perfect for working when the design is hooped and you are adding applique pieces. It is hard to get even a travel iron on small pieces in the hoop. The Accuquilt tutorials show using the little one in the hoop. I have found that it works great if it is hot enough.

I bought one of those Clover brand little irons with the triangular base years ago. The first time I used it the little dial on it broke. I haven't had it out since then. I think I tried to glue the switch thing on but as you see, it's been so long I can't even remember as it sits in the bottom drawer in my sewing room. I believe had it heated up or stayed on it would have done great for those small areas or for ironing on the bias binding strips for which is the reason I bought it.

I purchased the smallest travel steam iron from target in March for our emb retreat, I loved it and others thought it was great. It cost $29.95 . you can only get it online. If you have a target card, the shipping is free. It cost alot, but I feel it will last me forever and works great. Hope this helps. It is from Hammacher Schlemmer?

I have the triangle Clover iron and it's only been out of the case twice...I do use this mini iron a lot...it has great temperature control dial and it works great for things I need to do in the hoop...it's also great for pressing quilting seams...it is very sturdy too...

I like my clover iron I also use it to iron my rhinestones and hot shots on.

I have the tiny little Clover Iron and it's great for patchwork. Have used it recently on a paper pieced Mini wall-hanging. Also very useful if doing the Stained Glass variety as you won't burn your fingers with steam when applying the bias.
