UPDATE.................................................................

Hi Cuties, I've been home since about mid-day and decided to make Aqualina's Leotard for Gymnastics this afternoon. Aqualina asked me on Friday if I had made hers as I'd just finished off one for Jasana's girlfriends. I told her I hadn't and that I had a lot of other things to do for my Afghanistan Women's sewing project yesterday. When I told Dana she said "Is there anyway Mum you could make it tomorrow?" Well, what does one do? Of course I've done it!!

It's a brilliant cobalt blue with a snake skin looking silver and black sleeve and bodice. Thanks for looking, love Chris

P.S. Where in Newcastle it's been raining most of last night and all day! I LOVE IT!!!

The pattern is from Mountain Ash designs - Leotards #2 size 2-14 and they fit snugly! This is a size 6-7

That is spectacular. I've always wanted to try sewing with leotard materials. Haven't perfected my overlocker yet. LOL.
Can I ask is it easy-ish and did you buy the material from Spotlight?

Hi Kathy, I used the overlocker on all the major seams. Just my normal sewing machine for sewing down the neckline, leg openings and wrists. It's a dead easy pattern and I bought this fabric from Newcastle Lincraft at Garden City. Love Chris

P.S. You can use any stretchy form of fabric. I've seen some gorgeous fabrics at the Gymnastic Academy where the girls go but they aren't Lycra, more a stretchy style abstract designs in Jersey.

Lovely leotard.The first thing I thought of when I saw the fabric in the yoke & sleeves, was it would make a lovely mermaid outfit.Reading the other comments ,it seems I wasn't the only one who thought of mermaids.

Been over to Dana's and the girls were dressed in the Leotards I made. I had to make another one for Aqualina as the one above in the picture hanging on the coat hanger was too small!!!!! So I ended up making another one today between sizes - more around the tummy area and a bit extra on the chest! Aqualina hugged and hugged me for ages, she was so excited about getting a new one. I might give the other one to a friends little girl to play with. Second picture is them doing a pose.
