I had to laugh. I haven't heard that in years and only as an adult did I come to find it's meaning. (I actually fired one. Well, not a $2 one, but a cheap model.)

Don't laugh... I have heard that saying for forever too, but had no clue there was a meaning behind it. What does it mean? I am sure Vicki will jump in here with the answer... :)
OK, guys, cheap 19th Century pistols got extremely hot when fired........thus the phase, however it could also mean stolen.......but I like the 19th century explanation....
