My Daffodil doily.

I have daffodils growing in my garden and wanted to have some of them embroidered on one doily as well
but my machine had another idea and didn't let me embroider it properly since the start. After trying different needles, different tension and speed settings, I gave up and called a repairman. After a few questions, he asked me to take my machine to him. I did and after a few tests, he made one change in the settings for the plain sewing - not the embroidery settings - and lowered the feed dog which was up for plain sewing which I use rarely. I'll test my machine soon. Below is the layout I had made in my software, ready to be stitched out. The daffodil design is from the Embroidery Favourites collection by Sue Box.
Hugs, Lidia

I love the way your design looks and I am sure it will be beautiful when stitched out. Our machines let us down now and again - i hope your repairman has sorted it out and it will perform nicely when you test it.

My 4-needle is at my repairman and he's going on holiday next Saturday - not sure whether he'll be able to fix and return it before then. even though I have a great alternative in my Ruby, I love the 4-needle for rather large orders and of course I have one now...

Thank you, Martine. My machine isn't working properly yet. I'll continue testing it today and if necessary I'll take it to the repairman again.

Let us know how it stitches out. I know how it feels to be in the middle of a project and start having trouble. Kay

Lidia, if you are using a combined machine for embroidery only, then you should tell the repairman that and he should service it and set it up as an embroidery machine.
At least that is what my serviceman has told me and he is fabulous.

Thanks, Patricia, that is what the repairman has done but he has tested the plain sewing part but not on the project I had with me. He expected the machine to work fine. He hasn't charged me for that.

It's going to be beautiful when you get your machine going again Sorry to hear you have problems. We all feel a child is missing when we have to send them to the Dr/Lillian

Lidia, saw pictures of many of your works on Sue Box's site. I do have a question about your doilies. Before you do your final edging do you place a backing under your design so that it hides the back stitches of your design? Also, what fabric do you use for your doilies and what stabilizer? Avis

Lidia, I admire your creations shown on Sue Box's site and in her news letter. Any tips on successfully creating these beautiful doilies? I've bought the designs because of your inspiration. Now to get up the courage to try. Thanks for sharing pics of your creations. Sandra

Thank you, Loralye, you are very kind. The daffodils have finished flowering some time ago in my garden and I'm not in a hurry to embroider this project but I'll keep this layout in mind and sooner or later I'll stitch it out :)
