My grandma gave me a pretty panel and fabric that goes with it and I want to use it in a quilt but it being sideways is throwing me off. It's about 3x4'. The coordinating fabric isn't going to be enough to use for the backing so I guess I'll use it elsewhere in the quilt. I don't know what I'm gonna do for the borders or other blocks or anything

I would split that print piece and add it to the top and bottom of the panel and add some blue borders. It would probably be big enough for a small quilt then , Or you could use just the panel for a wall hanging,

Love your panel and extra fabric .I would take some red fabric and use that for a border of about 3 inches wide and also use the red for the backing then I would prick out the animals with a small running stitch so they stand out. With the other fabric I would make a table centre piece .it is too nice to cut up. Hope this helps. Please let us see your finished article.

You just got the quilter's viewpoint! Click on her name (in blue) and go look at some of her projects!

Beautiful fabric, it would make a lovely wall quilt the co-ordinating fabric could be used for the back if you add some borders to it.. Show us what you decide on doing. A big "Welcome" to cute hope to hear more from you. Marian/ Sydney Australia

Love the panel. Carol has a great idea with the red border then you could decide if the blue could be used as a second border. It is to pretty to cut up. Welcome to Cute. I am also a Smokey12 and a cat. :)

I love raels011 suggestion of an attic window. I found a Missouri Star You Tube video that shows how to do it. I tried to add the link but it failed. But you can go to You Tube, look for Missouri Star Quilt Company. and then look for the video on an attic window quilt.

I have this same panel & love it, my plan is an attic window wall hanging & your 2cd fabric would be perfect for the backing with any alternate colour fabric bordering it enough to make it the same size. best of luck
