Some time ago I posted that I got a number of cones thin yarn for knitting machines. I knitted a jumper for my granddaughter (swatch picture 4), crocheted a lap-size blanket (start of it picture 3), did a second one with different coloured stripes (picture 2) and now crocheted a South Bay shawl (picture 1). I loved the pattern.

The shawl looks gigantic, but the dress-boy is child size.

One of the component threads (the one on the right in picture 5) is about 3 times the thickness of the other two yarns. That cone has shrunk considerably not so the other two :(

These are only 3 of the 4 reds, there are about 10 whites and off-whites, some blues - two banana cardboard boxes in total.
I might even consider using that old knitting machine :)

You have been a busy lady.
Oh my Martine. My knitting machine has not seen the daylight since I moved and now I would not know where to put it, since the embroidery machines have taken over. However I have lots of cone and hand knitting yarns. Nice thing about cone ones you can double, triple ... them to make them the thickness you need for a project.

Thank you.
I can set it up in a small guest room - we have not downsized after the children moved out so there is a spare. The machine has not been used in years and need some TLC before use. I'd love to try some lace on it.

Hopefully the foam rubber has not deteriorated. I would not know where to get parts for the machine. Brother has stopped making them long time ago.

I love the shawl in picture 5, and the knitted piece in picture 4, actually I love them all. You've done so much with your time here Martine, well done. The crochet pattern for the lap size blanket is wonderful. Love Chris

Beautiful work. Tried knitting (with needles) one time and didn't enjoy - stayed tense. Also tried crochet. Love lots of other kinds of needlework, but think I'll leave the knitting and crochet to you!

I still have a knitting machine and lots of cones, and when I have time I make something... but this year its been too busy. Being creative is so satisfying I can understand the pleasure when you have a finished garment. These items look beautiful.
