This is the way my Mother used to make them. There was always one hanging on the oven door. Is there any embroidery on the towel?

Did your pot holders have the hanging loop on them. If so did you take them off when turning this way?
yes it had it and i cut it off and added button and button hole ok

I've done a few this way and instead of making a buttonhole I just added a Kam snap.. Easy peasy because I'm lazy and don't like to make buttonholes.LOL

I like it. I would how ever put the seam bump on the back of the towel. Thus the last pix should have the lower towel decoration. Button where you put it or flip that. I like the clean look of the snowmen without buttons visible.
