I'll let you know when I receive my first full check. I did get two this month, but neither was a full month, with insurance withheld.
I have stayed busy for sure. It seems though my days are full without 'working' a job.
Hubby could stay busy in woodworking, but he only makes when something is requested, by us. I told him he could sell these but he said not a big demand locally and would be to hard to ship, so.........he watches a lot of Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke re-runs, sports..........I like him outside and house quiet-lol

Yes, Dennis we are pleased he can usually make what we request. WE built our own house. When the idea/talk first started, I was scared, as neither of us are carpenters. He told me if I would help him, we could do it. Well, it's nothing fancy, just a wood house on piers, but we aren't fancy either. It's a roomy comfortable home that fits our needs, and besides, we live in the country. Who's gonna see it-lol
We worked on it in the summer months and it took us 3 summers. The second summer, our daughter was diagnosed with cancer, so work came to a snail pace. The last summer worked through November, we were so close to finishing, so we could move in before Ashley had the twins, Avery and Isabella.
Our son did help, when he could, but he has a full time job. He and hubby made the cabinets in kitchen, utility, baths.
Also, family and friends that were carpenters or could just help with lifting, help frame and roof the house.
We have a nephew that is a licensed electrician. He figured what we needed for wiring, receptacles, lighting,etc. He came and helped hook everything up after hubby and son wired it. I have recessed lighting in the open kitchen/living area but one thing I regret is the outside motion lights. Hubby didn't want them because he was afraid the animals would keep them set on. We later installed some on one corner of the front, where people come in, but I wish we had them at the back too.
We also have another nephew (advantages of a large family-lol) that does heating/cooling. He picked up our heating/ac unit at his price, and came on his week-end off to hook it up, after we had the ducting ready.
Hubby hooked up the inside plumbing while our son did the outside.
The inside was done by hubby and me. All the insulation (and I could tell you a story there-lol) walls, ceilings,mouldings,painting,staining,etc.
Also most of the outside boards on the house,hubby and I put up, except when son was available to help. My husband told him, we didn't want him here every time he was off. He has his family and work of his own to do.
Anyway, built and paid as we went, so no mortgage either, is the best thing. Like I said, we're not fancy but our home means a lot to us, more so I guess because it was built by loving hands, of us, family and friends.

I know what you mean, though. The threads have the plastic covers on and I've been embroidering with them for 10 years now. They still seem to be okay. Have you seen other Cuties threads? They have the big guns, I mean, cones!-lol
I need to give all you Cuties my address or phone number, so you all can make contact . Hubby says if he out lives me, he's burning it all! Fabrics and threads!!! I say, I will haunt him all the days he has left-lol

Green is my favorite color!-lol- don't be though and yes, we're lucky here. When Avery was little her mom saw something for her, cost was outrageous, so hubby made it.

The one I took for my serger threads could have had a little more space between the dowels, but of course when it was made, it was made for my 1100 m emb spools.

Will I loan him out? Sure, send him a ticket, anything to get the TV off!-lol

Didn't he just retire? Give him something to do, to get him out of the house! I'm sure Meg would appreciate it, if he's become a TV watcher, like mine.

Yes, it is Michelle. I just bring the fabric up to it and run it along, until a color suits me.
