UPDATE.....How many of you knew this would happen? We have transferred Maxine into our kitty staging area in the basement, she will be kept in her cage until we get her wormed (Andi is bringing me meds today) After a few weeks they should all know each other through the cage, then we can start letting her out.....being as she is FELV and HIV negative, there is no harm in keeping her inside while we foster her for a new home......she was so lonesome out in the garage and it broke our heart......Skip and Jif are down there right now doing the staring thing.......I think I hear them singing "getting to know you"...LOL............

Hi all......just need some positive thoughts sent.....just caught a little stray kitty, Maxine, this morning and she is at the vet getting spayed.......she will be all set to be rehomed if her feline leukemia and HIV tests come back negative.......don't have any pics of her yet, will try to get one when she is brought home.......we will keep her in our big double decker cage for a week before we release her.....am hoping to find her a home by then.....all shelters are full, so we have no choice....

please let me know if anyone in Illinois would love to have her....she is about 9-12 months old.....

Oh! Vicki, they are so precious. My thoughts are with Maxine and hope all the tests are negative and you find a good home for her. Here we have a few Feral cats, which are difficult to catch, but come daily for food. These have not been spayed, so continue to breed. Hugs for you and your pets from Maureen in South Africa

Thanks so much for rescuing Maxine. Thanks to you, she will have a chance at a safe and happy life. And if you have no choice but to release her back, at least she will never have to worry about kittens again. My prayers are going up for a safe and happy home with loving people. I wish more people would help the feral cats like you and Suzanne

Prayers and good thoughts are with you! You are so good to do this...Maxine will be so much better off not having and raising kittens out there . Good luck finding her a good home. Hope it happens. You have already changed her life for the better. Kudos to you for caring so much! I wish more people would. I have seen so much in the last 6 years of doing this. I always say they are so lucky to land here with me. Same with you, they are lucky to land with you too. Hugs Suzanne

God bless you Vicki in all that you do to save these gorgeous critters from the wild. I pray that her tests come back free of 'nasties'! She sounds like a beautiful cat, can't wait to see a picture of her. Love Chris

Wow! It looks like she can go "home" and is not totally feral. She is so sweet.

A beautiful looking cat. I hope she finds a good home soon. I'm too far away and had to leave my cat with my daughter when we moved, she got the house and the cat! we now live at the side of a very busy main road. Not cat friendly :(

Good news on the combo test. I knew you would take her in...You have a huge heart and can not turn anyone away. I just adopted out 6 and have 5 more to adopt out. All the babies are eating and going in to be fixed and have their shots. Then they will be ready for adoptions. At least Maxine is in great hands. H UGS

Yeah, we are all softies at heart.......this little girl is so sweet...Sammi so far is the only one who has hissed at her through the screen door (we have a screen door leading to the basement kitty room, that way the kitties can all see each other) I knew Sammi would be the one with the issue......well, he will just have to get over it!!
