My daughter and Josh have found a flat. This view is from the main bedroom. Now to find furniture. A friend of a friend is leaving and she is giving Emma crockery and all her kitchen things. This will be a huge saving. The flat will be very sparsely furnished at first. Thank you all for your interest.

Josh has settled better than his mum and already knows his way around most of Dubai. Emma of course has all the pressure of a new job and new people under her. Not easy.

Oh my goodness - what a view!!! I hope furniture comes their way just like the kitchen things did!! Meanwhile, a couple of blow up mattresses and some lawn chairs will work for a short while!! Keep us updated!! Hugs, Laura*

The blow up mattresses I am afraid will not happen. That is one thing that Emma will insist on - a good mattress.

Emma can't go wrong with this one. Once she's got all the bits and pieces it will feel just like home. I don't think there is a bad view in Dubai especially looking over the water below. This view is no exception, stunning!!!!! I hope they can get all they need asap. Love Chris

Chris - I am speaking to them most days (thank goodness for Skype) and they are settling reasonably well. Both looking forward to moving, when they know they can go ahead. Emma is taking a bit of strain but she is a very strong person. Thank you for your concern.

If I were to make curtains it would cost a fortune to send. I think they are looking at blinds as an option

I agree that the view is really stunning BUT they might find that the heat in Dubai is not worth that view..... it's now my 53rd year in Saudi and I'd rather have the weather than the view LOL I hope they do well while there, as long as they have friends and some social life they will be fine. Dolly, my daughter has been posted to Dubai so does not have much choice. She is not to keen on the heat but like everything else she will get used to it.
