Here is my solution to integrating Maxine into our mix of cats........Sammi is really hissing badly at her, so I thought I need to start getting her smell up in the house and out of the basement......so I have had this pet playpen for years and moved it into the living room and zip her in it several times a day for a total of a few hours........Skip, Jif, Cassi and Sammi hiss at her, but I have armed myself with the can of air and just the sound makes them run........hoping eventually they will stop this.......I am only fearing for Maxine as most the others were feral and street smart......I wouldn't want her getting hurt, so until I feel comfortable, this is her new upstairs digs......she still has the full run of the kitty room in the basement when she is not in here.......

I heard of a technique that involves food. bring the bowls closer togehter over time and when they will eat together is when you will not have to worry anymore. She looks so sweet in there.

Well, she looks very comfortable. I hope the other cats soon come to terms with her. Love Chris

I think this is a super idea. I hope Maxine becomes best friends soon. I'm sure she would love the run of the sewing room too.

Very good idea. Smart looking accommodations. We have to do much the same thing when introducing new chickens. We have three grown hens we just purchased and one of the "older" hens was trying to show her whose top chicken in the pecking order. It was funny to watch but only because the new chickens were well protected.
