Class Rules - Wall Hanging

I made this wall hanging for a young lady who is a Grade 1 school teacher, and was given her own classroom this year. She was totally surprised, and really loves it.

The 8 "rule" blocks are from a design pack at Embroidery Library. The little red school house in the center is a separate design, but I don't remember where I got it. Photo looks a little bit blurry, or maybe it's just my eyes.

Her mom told me they are making curtains for windows in the classroom and the fabric will coordinate perfectly with the border on my quilt. It is black with primary colored dots, and the curtains will be black with primary colored crayons.

Hope you like it as much as she does. Thanks for looking.

Such a lovely gift! I hope the pupils learn to read fast and be able to read and remember the rules :)

Thanks Martine. These days, many children already know how to read small words or short sentences by the time they get to elementary school. But those who don't will learn to do so in her class, and the rules will be one of her teaching tools.

Thank you. The photo doesn't do justice for the colors. It is a lot brighter and cheerful in reality.

Thanks Chris. She said she can take down the paper "rules" she had posted on the walls, and just hang this in the center between the 2 chalk boards.

Thank you. I hope so too. Since I put her name on it, I told her she's not allowed to change her name for at least 5 years!

Thanks so much. I hope she uses it for a long time. I'll have to find a way to fix her name at some point, since she does have a steady boyfriend!

Now if only the children would learn and obey...............Great idea for the teacher and great job of you!

Thanks Toogie. Oh, I think those children will obey just fine. Their teacher is from a large family, and she has no problem turning on the authority with the young ones.

Perfect - You get an A+. My daughter is a teacher, I may have to consider doing something like this for her. Thanks for the inspiration.

What a fabulous addition to a classroom! All teachers have those rules and this is a cute way to remind them. The ones who have trouble reading will want to learn the words so they can read it too. Well thought out and completed!

Thanks Carolyn. The photo doesn't show how bright and cheerful the colors are, but I am quite pleased how all the blocks stitched out.
