the reason I picked this quote: I had to laugh about the funny picture in Anita's post. And it made me realize we sometimes complain about a "bad hair day"............

This picture tugs at my heart. We so often complain about unimportant stuff. This is a good reminder to be grateful to what we have.

it takes 20 hair donations to make 1 wig. Being able to grow your own hair, is such a blessing.

Not just that it takes 20hair donations but some of those well known wigs for the cancer kids sites charge up to $1000 for those wigs. So if you are one who does donate hair- please call and ask them how much they charge the patient for the wigs. In my own opinion the wonderfully generous gift of someones hair, should be able to be had by all patients. Yes they need to pay the person who need to create the wig, but hope that it can be at a price that patients can afford.

So many things that bother people, are of so little importance in relation to the "Big Picture". Bad hair? at least you have hair. Don't want to do housework? at least you have a house, or at least you have the health to clean your own house, or have the choice whether or not that you clean house or you are blessed that you can hire someone to do the things you don't like doing. When the choice of doing or having those things are taken away from someone, they quickly realize just how much those things mean. How touched people are when friends of a person going through chemo, all shave their heads, so that the patient does not feel different than the others. In the eternities our hair styles will likely not be of any concern but the love of those who donated their hair or shaved their hair to all look like the person going through chemo, now THOSE people will be the ones we wish to thank. When we lovingly do things to help another go through one of life's trials, those peoples care and concern will forever be remembered and appreciated. Reaching out to lift another in whatever way you are able, is NEVER wasted time or money. Pam
